white dude from Iowa is the lead suspect for a likely murder in Dominican Republic? Wow.

I know you are a libtard who shoves tranny pills down his sons throat and hates himself so this is likely a troll post.

But what makes this a "likely murder"?

Sounds more like dumb arse college kids doing what dumb arse college kids do on spring break.

Get wasted and frick.

Except this bitch didn't know how to swim and got swept away.

From my understanding, he admitted that they both eventually got back to shore. He then vomited and eventually passed out, while he saw her walking off down the beach along the water.
Some articles are saying that he also gave two other renditions of the events.

Liberals are turning this into a much bigger deal now since it's a straight white guy. Wasn't nearly as big of a deal when all those tourists were being drugged in Punta Cana a couple of summers ago.

Most likely story is they were in the water and a riptide pulled them out to sea resulting in her death.

He panics and doesn’t know what to do since he is in a foreign country.

I read that this was simply a translation issue. He was telling the same story to different translators or something along those lines.

Gotcha.

Yea, that would make sense.

Jamaica is the same way, we left once and were harassed so bad by the locals we never left the resort again, other than excursions on the resort bus.

IIRC, he did say they went down as a group, and he said after the water event he passed out on the beach. Woke up, didn't see her, and went to his room.

Apparently a camera sees them all go down as a group, all but those two return. And then the camera catches him returning alone in the morning matching that part of his story.

There doesn't seem to be a reason for him to kill her, but Joran could have lived a life hooking up with cruise ship women in Aruba for decades and yet he was a POS.

the DR is like Mayberry compared to Jamaica, only reason they can't lay sole claim to being the anus of the Caribbean is because of Haiti

I don’t believe it was foul play, unless there is a motive that we haven’t heard yet.

Likely was with her when she drowned and then freaked out about it.

Changing the story really complicates his chances though.

He should have been open and honest from the get go.

Agreed.

And he was likely blackout drunk.

Seems like she got "Vandersloot'ed". He wanted more, she refused, so he hit over the head and put her in the water, fish food. No traces.

We're headed to Iberostar in 3 weeks. First time going to DR so hope all of the chaos has subsided by then. That said, this doesn't seem like a Natalie Holloway repeat to me but wouldn't be first time today I was wrong.

Noticias SIN reported that Ribe has given three versions of what happened next, first telling police he threw up from the rough surf and went back to shore — but asked Konanki if she was OK.

In the second version, he allegedly said he felt sick to his stomach and left the water, last seeing the missing woman in knee-deep surf before passing out.

Finally, he also told authorities that he saw Konanki walking along the shore before he fell asleep, the outlet said.

Sounds like he might have been blackout drunk, and doesn't really know what happened, or what he might have done about it at all.

just read an update

looks like her parents are accepting that their daughter likely drowned and the person of interest, Joshua Riibe, may be innocent after all

quote:

"We are coming to terms with the fact that our daughter has drowned," Konanki's father, Subbarayudu Konanki, said through tears. "This is incredibly difficult for us to process."

Konanki's father said that U.S. and Dominican Republic authorities told the family that they also believe their daughter drowned, pointing to the ocean's conditions on the morning she disappeared.

"Both sides of the authorities have shown us how high the ocean waves were at the time of [the] incident," he said. "And both sides of the authorities also clarified that the person of interest is not suspect from the beginning."
