Why do threads on topics dealing with local BR issues and news (especially ones dealing with potential issues like this one) always get anchored

I get that there are some who flame, some who troll, some who take it too far for something they post but why anchor the entire thread instead of changing those posts to "This post is unreadable" or whatever it is and get rid of the BS?

By no means am I calling the A-Team or our TD Overlords out on anything. I'm just curious. My friends call me Whiskers.

x1000

admins. look this is pertinent information for the BR folks for the most part. if you need to delete, whack, ban those who cross the line or mention unmentionables in these threads, that's fine. most of us know the lines in the sand. i.e. i haven't mentioned a single word about you know who.

but in the next few days our home base, our city, our home town will potentially be under attack. people who don't post, but read or lurk, read these threads. do what you have to do, but please don't ban us from spreading information to the good folks of BR.

Un-Anchored

ETA: This is a glorious day in OT history. A thread sent to it's gravy bottom way too early, taken at such a young stage, has now RISEN and come back to the great people of the OT. Today will live in OT infamy.

That's the minority in baton rouge.

So should we expect riots like the 1992 LA riots or worse?

The National Guard was told months ago that they would be needed once the decision came down. Unfortunately, my contact is now out of the country working for the next 6 months and he hasn't heard squat.

NG has specific QRF on alert.

I won't give other details. OPSEC.

Nothing out of normal SOP, though.

Now that this is unanchored, lets try to keep it somewhat civil (by civil, I mean OT civil). I and a lot of others are watching this very closely and need as much information about what to expect. So continuous anchors on this subject isn't helping anyone, especially myself and all other users with BR interests that could be impacted by the decision.

Agreed. I just pray the announcement doesn't happen until AFTER LSU finals...then I will leave y'all to defend this city

Agreed, for those of us out of town this is one of the few resources we have for local unofficial news. Just because we're better than you and don't live there anymore, doesn't mean we don't want to know.
