No. Narcissists have always and will always be around. Social media doesn't make someone narcissistic, it just gives a narcissists a tool to use to put their personality disorder on full display for everyone to see.

I had a similar argument IRL.. Has social media changed people's behavior or has it allowed them to magnify their behavior to the point more people are able to see who they really are?

One individual that I know suffers from the attention whore syndrome. He will make everything about him, from his children's birthdays to the most recent storms, that didn't even affect him. I very much dislike him, and absolutely loathe to have to be around him.

Its one thing to share it with friends, but these people usually don't JUST friend.. friends on FB, twitter, snapchat, instagram, etc.
yeah I get this... I mean the people that just go to see how many followers and friends they can get, that tells you right off the bat that they just like to be seen and usually don't have much substance..... but for a girl to want to show her friends and family her excursions with friends every weekend and want to be front and center for the pics so she can look back at it, I see nothing at all wrong with it, and hats off to her. Most people at 42 would LOVE to be able to still be making memories with friends at that point

And someone can been sort of an "attention seeker" without having to be center of attention every single time.
I feel you... I guess you mean the once that could feel slighted if they aren't getting all the attention... like a child.... also doesn't surprise me when an adult still shows child tendencies. That's all that is. Many people have some aspect of their lives where they could use a good bit more of growing up.

Someone can be an attention seeker, but not be over the top with it. In a lot of cases its "just how they are"..
I guess I'd say I enjoy being the center of attention sometimes. It can be fun to be able to stand out. It's not something you want to care about or 'do at all cost'. Actually there are times where I've wished I wasn't the center of attention, and people didn't look to be to pass a good time.

But when you are single and are a busy body and you have a bunch of married friends, you are the one they call when the get a weekend yard pass and BOOM they are quick to say 'you the man that knows how to have fun, what we doing?!'

Posters who, no matter the context, write convoluted sentences that go on too long and bitch about things when they should mind their own business.

Same kind of person that starts yelling and runs over to watch a fight in the big holding tank they put you in when you're booked into jail. When the fight is right next to me, I calmly get up and walk to the other end of the room.

This weekend I went to a small party and there was this one person who transparently wanted the attention on them. This wasn't the first time I have been around this person and each time they were the same way.
