Such bs. Nothing more empty than thoughts and prayers. Code for nothing being done.

Praying for something you know nothing about? Such silliness

What about prayer groups? This is just a reason to get together during the week with your friends/fellow parishioners.

No it's not. It's their way of showing "Look at me!".

Slightly

They just want credit.

I will say that is just some people's way for closure I guess.

Some of you have a seriously skewed perception of the whole thing. Maybe it's a person who literally will pray for that person or people. I know I usually do. I would be lying if I said I did it every single time, but I usually don't throw that out as a canned response to everything either.

If it pisses you off or you get all bent out of shape about it - that's a YOU problem and not a THEM problem. Because that's a silly thing to get bent out of shape about.

Saw a comics bit on this. Gist was after the Nightclub shooting (how long ago the clip was) people flood Facebook etc with “prayers” and “praying”. What he said they were doing was less than nothing. You made no donation etc, all you said was “don’t forget to look at me”. “Don’t forget my problems too”.

Pretty funny bit. He of course said it better. The audience had the nice mix of laughter and “ooohh”.

Really? by commenting "prayers sent" on social media? That's gotta be the most low key way of attracting attention in the history of the internet.

You know what's equally annoying? People who criticize others for offering up "thoughts and prayers" and not actually doing anything, while having done absolutely nothing of value themselves to contribute or to better the situation.

I.e. "Your thoughts and prayers are meaningless if you don't do anything to help!" (typed from my couch as I watch Rick and Morty and eat Cheetos)

SIAP but Anthony Jeselnik has a bit on this. Basically, people are saying "don't forget about me."

If you have thoughts and prayers, just go say a prayer. No need to post about it on facebook. People post way too much personal shite IMO anyway.

Edit: I see someone already posted the video.

Well in theory it's true. Sending wishes doesn't heal someone but prayer might actually help heal someone......allegedly

With that said, prayers sent to you
