It's a sick form of narcissism. All people know is a few years after being born till the eventual inevitability of their death.
How important would you be in the annals of human history if you were alive to see the end of the world?
Truth is the world will go on without you or me or even the human race. Why do you think religions usually have an apocalypse prophecy? If we just die and nothing happens then there is no meaning to life. We aren't as important as we'd like to think.
So yeah, god loves us and our lifetime is so important to us that surely our time here has significance. Some people want the world to end.

I pretty much agree with this.
This was a while back but I remember hearing someone talk about "the mark of the beast" and that we started seeing it when the government started issuing social security numbers, which was a form of "the mark" and that one day we will all be required to have a "barcode".. It was crazy shite, but I am just more curious as to how so many people are convinced of these things.

I went to Catholic school for four years and I remember having to read the bible and at some point I read some parts of revelations, but I wasn't really worried about learning it at that time in my life, but one of these days I am going to go back and read it. I've heard people say "reading the book of revelations is scarier than any horror movie you will ever watch because it tells us what will really happy".. But thinking about it, yeah I guess religion and its teaching that the word will end.. Is why so many people look for times when it will end..

Nobody really believed any of that shite. I was offering any of them I could find $10,000 for their house so they'd have that money to live out their last days in style but couldn't get any takers. I was even willing to let them live in the house all the way til the end of 2012 just in case the calendar was off by a few days.

No one knows the end of time besides God. And things are being fulfilled and this world is in bad shape/turned its back against God. So I won't be surprised if the world ends soon. Won't bother me. I'm going to a better place

It's all relative. Everyone's world ends someday. They are thousands of peoples' world ending right now as I type this.
