I am not a granmar nerd but this one really bothers me. You really see and hear it a lot at this time of year when people talk about their school/team in the dance.
And you bring your damn school down with you because an alumnus from a decent college should know better.

It's called The Association of Former Students, you nincompoop.

People who use that probably never studied Latin.
For example, the person who designed the bumper sticker that says “LSU Alumni” was either expecting multiple LSU grads in each vehicle all the time, or never studied Latin.

No you aren't.

Cool kids shorten it to alum.

That's why you just say alum and it's correct either way. Problem solved

Granmar? Is that a type of seizure?

You really fricked this one up, Morty.

Nothing bothers me more on a Saturday night than incorrect Latin.

Alumni - plural
Alumnus - singular (masculine)
Alumnae - singular (feminine)
People today are stupid.

My child took 6 years of Latin and she told me this morning they are eliminating Latin from her school next year. That is a shame.

LSU Alumni is actually correct. As they are stating that vehicle is owned/occupied by a member of the group known as Alumni of LSU.
When referring to themselves, they are an LSU Alumnus/a
<---- 3 years of Latin.

Then the bumper sticker should read “LSU Alumni Association”.
