What do you do when Chickfila gives you your meal for free? I've had it happen probably 3-4 times in recent years. "Good afternoon, have we paid for your meal lately?" Uh.. What? No? "Oh well here you go! Have a great day!"
literally never had this happen

Eh, it's not free if you're expected to pay for the person behind you. Actually it could be more expensive if the people behind you have a larger order.

You don't have to do it then

Do it any time, anywhere

this ^^^^
you sound like an idiot complaining about trying to stop it when all you have to do is what you are asking others to do.

SO IF YOU WANT IT TO STOP, TAKE YOUR FREE shite AND LEAVE AND DONT PAY FOR THEIRS

I once paid for a police officer’s nuggets meal at Wendy’s.

Felt bad afterwards that he was getting the number 10 and not a triple combo !

Lady in front of me a dinning establishment handed the guy three credit cards which were declined, once the 4th one went through I asked if she would like to pay mine too.

She wasn't amused

I've done this many times. Twice because I recognized the driver behind me. But never because someone had paid for mine.

The one time someone paid for mine, I was just very thankful to the employee. I didn't feel the need to pay for anyone else at the time because I actually felt that it would be robbing my buyer of their good deed, by just robotically passing it onto the next person. Who may not have shared that feeling at all, unless they were guilted into it

I have also paid a few for someones purchases in line at stores. Especially if they were struggling to come up with the amount needed, or their card wasn't being accepted. That has a much BIGGER impact. They always cry. Once even the employee started crying because she had never seen anyone do that before

Its should be solely about the gift, not a meme

I’m miserable because I don’t want the people behind me feeling like they are responsible to pay for someone else’s meal, even though they might be struggling?

So just take the free meal and drive off. No one behind you will know the difference.
