I bet even Harvard workshop grads can use "than" and "then" correctly.

Anyone who attended the real Harvard will never say they attended Harvard.

They will say they went to school near Boston or near Brookline.

The fly by night people say they went to Harvard.

That is, unless a real Harvard person is speaking to someone from Yale.

Then its all Hahhhhh-vad.

The one Harvard law grad I know went to ULL for undergrad. How hard can it be?

went around and told everyone she went to Harvard when in reality she did a summer long certificate course

Used to have a boss that did same with a 3mo Dartmouth MBA workshop (not degree). Had a dozen golf shirts with Dartmouth on them, coffee mug, etc. Would always work it into a conversation...that a-hole went to Arkansas, but he never mentioned that

ETA: two fam members did undergrad degrees at Harvard, and wear LSU gear 24/7, never mention where they went. If someone asks, they mention where they got law degrees

SO went to Columbia. She has no sticker on her car,a sweatshirt she never wears, and won't bring it up in conversation.

To the people hating on LinkedIn - you must not be using it properly. Recruiters reach out to me all the time (subtle brag) and it is directly related to my quasi-resume being instantly visible to millions of recruiters. So, yes, some people (smart people) still use LinkedIn.

Thread hijack: a guy I vaguely know played juco baseball, got a good job offer after that, and never got around to finishing his bachelors. This guy went on for a 20+ year career working for three or four different companies, with steadily increasing levels of experience, then gets laid off due to market conditions. Now its going on 2.5 years of unemployment and it's like he's radioactive. Going by his resume, you'd think somebody would hire him by now. The only thing he doesn't have is that sheepskin.

Moral of the story, get that degree. You may regret it otherwise.

I know a guy that has no college degree who has been riding his Harvard summer course "degree" for years. He's scared to death that somebody will call him on it, but he's made a killing on being a schmuck, so he's riding the wave.

Gohoga. Recruiters are morons the fact that he is radioactive is that he’s been unemployed not that he has no degree. I think I speak for 99% of us in that no recruiter has ever ever asked for proof of that degree.

Matter-of-fact I’m gonna change my degree I LinkedIn just to see if I start to get a lot of recruiter calls I’ll report back what happens

So you do data entry.

The recruiter won’t but the company may. I’ve worked in HR all over the country. Never worked somewhere where we didn’t verify degree prior to hire.
