Eastern cultures usually. I'll wear foot coverings that I carry rather than remove shoes.

OP's feet smell like ****, obviously.

Do these same people also ask you to remove your clothes and shower when entering their house? You're going to get a lot of the same shite on your clothes and person walking around as you do on your shoes
Why do you roll around on the floor in public bathrooms? That's just weird.

Uh, yes they do. I don’t know what kind of unkempt commoners you associate with. No one walks through another person’s apartment wearing shoes. If you want to keep your shoes on, you wait by the door.

Guess you have never been an absurdly nice house with white carpets.

While I agree with you on this, I always go back to what my grandmother said. We don't live in a museum, a house is to be lived in. Of course my other grandmother made us take our shoes off. It actually makes sense to do it but we as a society are lazy.
I don't make people take their shoes off because I have these things called door mats. They're the peak of 21st century technology.

carpet is even better, their shoes will be spotless on the bottom by the time they leave

I'm sure they get rid of everything people have on their shoes, right?

Nope, they don't get rid of bacteria. Everything on the planet is already covered with bacteria, so I think it'll be okay.

Or Japanese

Link? Explain why?
Whne I bought my house, one of the first things I did was re-do the flooring such that a guest could walk everywhere in the house except for bedrooms without encountering carpet, so that if they wanted to keep shoes on that's fine, they are on tile the whole time...I guess if your poor you can't do stuff like this

I'd rather you keep your shoes on than your nasty feet on my floor.
People in countries where this is a custom wear socks, and the resident generally has extra slippers for guests.

not only do I insist that guests remove their shoes, I greet them at the door with a pail of warm soapy water and I wash their feet for them before entering the house

The bottoms of your shoes are a petri dish of staph, shite, and more staph. People who do this have my respect.

I went to a gathering where the only person who didn't take their shoes off stepped in dog shite and left a trail throughout the house.

Too bad not being poor didn't help you with spelling though. I don't do it and don't begrudge anyone who does. I just love hearing some people whine and bitch. Congrats, you made the team.

I'm pretty sure the people who built the house wore shoes.

My wife is Vietnamese, so we always take our shoes off when we enter our house. But we never ask visitors to take theirs off. We just fire up the Roomba after they leave.
