When I shake people's hands, I ask if they'd like to tip 2, 3, or 4 dollars for the handshake.

I tip on to go orders, I usually round it up to to the $5. If it's a $22 order, I will tip $3. If it's like $24.08 I just add $2.

frick that. If I go somewhere and I pay using the card, but use cash to tip (which I usually do if I have cash on me), I make sure to show that I am not leaving a tip. You don't know what someone will do. The odds are it will not happen, but there is always a chance that someone will try it. If someone decides to do it, I am not going to make it easy for them. They will skip my ticket and try it with yours.

Then technically you should tip fast food workers.

What service at McDonald’s? It’s shitty service like 97% of the time. If you think otherwise...you’re crazy....and poor. Who eats at McDonald’s?

What about McDs curbside pickup. My quarter pounder with cheese and a medium fries total was $3.79. There is no tip line on the app. Do I tip .57 cents (15%) for excellent service?

You do realize the person bringing you the food is paid a normal wage and isn't actually the one putting your order together the vast majority of the time, right?

At McDonald’s they don’t expect a tip due to their clientele and I guess you fall into that category. Congrats.

I don’t tip at any fast food places unless thy provide exceptional service. That’s a better way to put it.

Sonic and Chic FIL A are the only two that provide this. Maybe whataburger

If I can tip those people I do.

Not tipping a sushi place that you frequent is just plain crazy.

If I go get it, why would I tip???

I order pizza and Chinese all the time and go pick it up.

Why would I give you a tip for food that I’m going to get???

Are people actually TIPPING for this? Please tell me this is a joke. No one is this dumb.

They gather all your food, put it in the bag, fill your drink... to name a few.

Now explain to me why they shouldn't get a tip, and someone at a restaurant who bags your food for takeout should.

Thanks.

Simple. Because they don’t give a shite if it’s right and they don’t give a shite about you.

Also it’s shitty, cheap, pig fodder for poors. Made to be cheap and shitty for poors. They literally don’t expect a tip.

Bad service and bad food = no tip. Are you fricking slow?

And if they get your order right?

I love this. Regardless of how quickly or correct they get your order, they don't get a tip because the food is shitty and they don't expect one. The guy that puts my takeout in a bag for me... he gets a tip because he expects it.

ETA: Do you tip at Canes drive-thru?

I’m not tipping for a to go order. I paid for the food and I’m not sure what service I am tipping for. Putting food in a box seems like a part of their job.

Yes I do, but at a lot of restaurants, at the end of the night everyone puts their tips together and split it up and a small percentage of it will go to the cooks, dishwashers, etc so I don't mind contributing a few dollars so that the behind the scene guys can get a little cash to put in their pocket.

I personally stand, but mostly because it's easier to wait around for someone to tip me for wiping my own arse. Sitting would make my legs go numb.

Well, you can’t fix cheap people. Some of the wealthiest people around are...cheap.

I don’t tip at Cane’s but I have before on a big catering order. So...I guess sometimes.

And look, my first job was a burger flipper at sonic. I’ve also been a bus boy and then a bartender.

Never got to split tips at sonic....people tipped me a little for busing their table...and as a bartender my tips were my living. Even if I cracked one beer open for them. Most people tipped.
