They gather all your food, put it in the bag, fill your drink... to name a few. Now explain to me why they shouldn't get a tip, and someone at a restaurant who bags your food for takeout should. Thanks.

It’s actually the exact same thing. McDonalds might be more difficult because they have to wrap the burger then put it in a bag.

But although Levee doesn't eat there and the food is shite, the workers at McDonalds always get it wrong and don't give a shite about you.

But he never eats there.

Why don't you tip at Cane's?

Seems to meet all of your criteria to tip. Is it because they aren't whiny bitches that feel entitled to a tip?

Never did this or heard of it when I was a waiter. Not sure why anyone would give up the money that they earned.

Now we're getting somewhere. So now it's about the difficulty of the task. This response begs the question, why the frick am I going to tip the guy at the restaurant that bags my food for takeout?

You’ve never heard of split tips?

I worked at a restaurant that did 100% split tips. DeAngelos

Also, the tip jar and tips from pick ups/ to go are usually SPLIT amongst the to go people, cooks, and bus boys.

But you wouldn’t know that because you’ve probably never worked a job like that.

Nope. It was never mentioned.

This is different. If it's a jar, yeah it makes sense to split it.

Because you aren’t just tipping him..you’re tipping the staff. And if they make a catering order it’s more challenging and they usually get it right?

I don’t know...just the way I was raised I guess.

If you want to not tip, that’s your issue. But I don’t think it’s necessary to put a big zero with a line through it.

TLDR thread

McDonald’s, BK, Wendy’s, Popeyes all have terrible service and don’t deserve a tip from me or any of you. You shouldn’t tip at these places unless they provide you with exceptional service or, you’re just in a good mood.

Buying food from a real restaurant that you may frequent? Probably a good idea to leave a buck or two for the staff that prepares your non-processed foods.

I don't tip anyone to put my food in a bag.

That's my cross to bear.

I know that chain restaurant take away servers get paid $3 or $4 per hour. They are reliant on those tips.

A hostess/cashier at a pizza joint? I don't know. But a little good fortune to brighten her night never hurt anyone.

As I said before, I like the kharma.

My daughter in law worked at numerous New Orleans Restaurants, pooling tips was very common, with the kitchen getting a cut.

What about McDs curbside pickup. My quarter pounder with cheese and a medium fries total was $3.79.

$3.79 for a quarter pounder meal? Maybe in 1993...
