But there are also many points that are clear and not subject to legitimate debate. We can affirm without doubt that anthropogenic climate change is a real phenomenon that is already apparent and will, if not mitigated, cause terrible suffering and destruction before this century is over.

That's a really bad way to start off a "scientific" article.

I've always thought the move to green energy should be about energy independence.

The only time the US economy has been vulnerable in my lifetime has been when oil prices are unstable. Hedging our reliance on oil exclusively is smart business. Solar, wind, etc. Fund and develop all of it.

I used to think that climate change deniers were uninformed but now I realize that they are ill informed. People are easily swayed by others saying what they want to hear instead of truth. This is also a growing problem concerning many issues facing us these days.

I believe in climate change but I'm pretty skeptical about the level of human contribution to it. What are we supposed to do, go back to a pre-industrialized society? The level of pollution in the US has been and remains on a consistent decline.

AND, people who push for action to address climate change are in the business of making money off of the action to address climate change.

It’s a racket

I couple weeks ago when the media claimed June was the hottest June on record, all of my liberal leaning friends (there’s like 4 of them) on Facebook posted link after link about how this was the result of global warming. But now that we’re in late July and just this past week saw several records broken for low temps, including several places seeing lows in the 50s here in Alabama, suddenly they are saying a single weather cycle isn’t proof of anything.

Renewable will never be stable enough to power the grid. Supplement? Sure. Supplant? Not gonna happen.

There is an answer however. It's just that the progressives and greens fight like cornered cats over it.

Every decade has a fear. Growing up in the 90s it was the ozone layer. We were told it would go away and Temps would rise.
Movies were made parodying it, even Robocop had the sunblock 2000 gag in a in movie commercial.
Then no one talked about it any more.

You don't hear about the Ozone hole and depletion of ozone layer anymore because every UN member signed the Montreal Protocol to ban CFCs, the chemicals that were causing it.

Now the hole is virtually closed and the ozone layer is on a rebound.
