Any decent rescue would have confirmed she had funds to pay for surgery before they let her have the dog

It's a bad decision, but just like they knew what they were getting into when adopting, people know what they are giving to.
But some of the Go Fund Me's are just greed. I knew one person put up a go fund me to cover and operation he needed; he didn't disclose that he had health insurance.
