I have never experienced this in my career.

some bozo who never gets their work done

Sounds like the bozo may not recognize they are the bozo in this situation.

It's generally done by people who suck. Its an opportunity to respond to them with a list of things they are late on delivering, since those people never get anything accomplished.

We have a 50ish mid-level manager type from overseas who constantly escalates for no reason. We'd pretty much all like to kick the shite out of him.

Hit reply all and dirt roll them. They'll quit corresponding with you entirely.

The people doing that universally suck at their jobs.

Yes it is usually done when someone has a track record of being a poor employee and usually that person's manager or supervisor has asked me to do so.

Yeah. My coworkers keep CC’ing my shift manager because I keep burning the fries. It’s not my fault if the deep fryer keeps burning everything!!

When people do that crap to me I make sure to reply all and make them look like fools. It’s easy to do because the kind of people that do that are almost always subpar and not very bright.

My “team” gets is, it’s the other 300 employees in the company that don’t get it. They have learned to bypass the filter.

Been on both ends of this... I think if your the supervisor, it's your job to tell them to stop CCing you on everything.

But have worked with execs in the past that wanted cc on everything. Like really?

My secretary takes care of all my emails. If it's something that needs my attention she calls me. I haven't looked at work emails in years.

Consider yourself lucky. My boss and the way higher ups of the company are blind copied on every email received or sent in my organization. Talk about micromanagers wet dream. Thankfully my new boss doesn’t jump into my emails much.

Our compliance/tech officer will cc my boss who is also CEO if I don’t abbreviate or follow to a T our system procedures for documentation. He’s never said anything to me about it so I’m guessing it bothers him almost as much as me.

I had never had to deal with e mails. I have one now but don’t know how to use it very well.

We operated with landlines, huge Motorola pagers that just went “ beep, beep, beep “ over the two way FM radio frequency. I had a two way in my truck.

Maybe there has been a complaint to your manager about stuff not getting done and he told the sender to put himself on copy when they send you something to make sure it gets completed
