Theuy certainly exist though, as is referenced biblically, and I do think angels protect us.
Oh yes, I definitely believe in angels and believe they watch us and at times interact.

Is Jesus talking about when we "rise from the dead" at the Second Coming?
According to this I believe so
Jesus answered, “You are mistaken because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. / In the resurrection, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage. Instead, they will be like the angels in heaven.

What specifically does your current denomination teach on the subject.
I'm Catholic and I think that Orthodox and Catholic believe the same things on this particular topic.
Off the top of my head, I think Catholics believe that those who die and go to Heaven go there immediately. They are like angels there. At the Second Coming, we are restored to physical bodies like Jesus Himself had after His Resurrection.
I guess the Book of Revelation might have it right? The good folks in Heaven are wearing white robes in Heaven as part of the Host of the Saints?
Isn't this what Presbyterians believe?

At the Second Coming, I think we are restored to physical bodies like Christ's Body after the Resurrection.

This. People find solace in the thought of loved ones never truly leaving us.

That we are waiting for the Resurrection... when we die, our soul returns to God to await the resurrection and glorification of our body.

If you're wondering what I'm talking about, a picture is going around of Trump and Elon sitting together with an Angel version of Kirk standing behind them touching their shoulders.
And maybe not ‘angel’ or whatever form an angel or demon take of looks like..
But I know my Mother has become a Saint and her soul is glorified in the presence of God.

This…and those who believe their deceased relatives in Heaven watch over them.

Yes, I think that's what Catholicism teaches. I suppose that during the time that our soul returns to God, we are "like angels" as Jesus said. Then at the Second Coming, our bodies are Glorified and take a physical form like Jesus took after His Resurrection. So, we are like Angels when we die, then at the Second Coming, our bodies are Glorified, and we are than no longer like Angels.
So I guess this idea that humans turn into Angels upon death is suggested in the Bible after all?

No, it's something I've often wondered. I used that as a recent example for sake of conversation.
That because someone made a meme with CK having angel wings that Christians on the whole believe when we die we turn into cherubic beings with halos and wings???
Jesus help us, you cant be this stupid???

Angels have bodies... I think.. also, the Mark 12:25 verse is in context of the Saduucees asking about which brother the woman will be married to in heaven.
quote:
18 Then the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question. 19 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother. 20 Now there were seven brothers. The first one married and died without leaving any children. 21 The second one married the widow, but he also died, leaving no child. It was the same with the third. 22 In fact, none of the seven left any children. Last of all, the woman died too. 23 At the resurrection[c] whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?” 24 Jesus replied, “Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? 25 When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 26 Now about the dead rising—have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’[d]? 27 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!”

Jokes on you because it wasn’t Charlie as an angel. Angels don’t have halos.

Good question. Probably misinterpretation of paintings, books and modern (since motion pictures) media.
I do think that Mormons (LDS) teach that some men can become angels, but I would not believe any of them sons of bitches any further than I could knock one of his bicycle with my pickup truck.

First, not the picture.
Also, many people seem to hold this thought- I gave examples in the OP.

quote:Angels predate humans and are servants of various types. Many are messengers and we cannot know them as we are clearly told that they pass for human.
Angels were made by God to serve humans.
If you read carefully, the first rebellion was from angels.

I see your point about the context of Jesus's remark about us being like Angels after death.
Posted on 9/26/25 at 9:59 am to Gings5

Nope, it’s pretty clear in the Bible that angels and demons are separate beings than us.
Demons are the Nephilim who died in the flood who were abominations and not man or divine, so they have to toil on the Earth realm desiring human needs without a body to fulfil them.

There are two types who do this:
Those that know the difference but it’s the easiest, most common depiction of a human in heaven so they use it and then those who don’t know any difference.
Of all the things to get twisted around an axle about, this is pretty low on my list.
