I had this happen last year. I was completely blindsided by the selfishness of it. I have 2 dogs who ran around the house like maniacs because we don't have animal guests. It really ruined Christmas for me to the point I really don't want to have them over again this year, but I don't have a choice. Been trying to figure out a way to tell them the dogs are not welcome this year without missing them off.

I asked my friend if I could bring my Boxer over for a visit. He said yes..The dog took a huge dump near the front door in a dark area. My friend stepped in it smeared it all over his carpet. I still laugh at that to this day. And of course I cleaned it up..

We used to live in a house where we didnt even wear shoes inside and some idiot thought bringing in his two big dirty dogs would be ok. Um, no.
Our dog only goes to people's houses who invite him. He is small, calm and well behaved.
Our new place is doggie friendly and friends often bring their pets because we have a dog park onsite, a doggie washing spot and other dog friendly amenities.
Our dog likes the dog park so much that he escapes the house and runs there all by himself and squeezes his little body between the locked gated and has a grand time playing until we discover his escape. (The park is about half a block from us)
Then the lil badass refuses to leave the park by squeezing thru the gates and insists that you open the gate for him to walk thru so he can bolt for the house.
Pic of the pup to make up for the long post. He is a Blue Merle Chihuahua

My dog stays with me, you know that before you invited me over. So don't bitch about something you asked for.

I bring my dog every where, but I ask first and if they arent cool with it, I probably won’t come over.
He’s a 75 lb golden doodle and sleeps on the foot of the bed and it’s awesome.
All dogs are welcome at my house.

In my remembered anger, I forgot to mention fleas. The fleas appeared from mid December onwards. A big dog had many fleas. the eggs were left behind and kept hatching for several weeks. That guest room has several rugs and every rug had to be taken out an beaten over part of the yard that had been liberally dusted with Savin. In addition to bug bombing the room a couple of times.
Other friends have a large dog and they bring a cage with them for their dog. They are always welcome.
Then there's the friend with the hyper Dachshund. Who got loose his last day here and went after one of our old cats who had cowered upstairs through their whole visit. He almost got the cat. Cat was shaking in terror. Next day, they left. Day after that, that cat lay down and died.

I have never gotten the concept of this... You are going into another persons house, AND if they happen to have pets its THEIR territory............

It seems to be becoming the norm. I can not go to a store without seeing someone their with their dog. People lose their shite when they see people texting and driving (rightfully so), but grandpa gets a pass driving 70 with a German Shepard in his lap...wtf

In my lifetime, dogs have gained more social acceptance and civil rights than any minority group. Black folk should hire the PR agent for dogs.
It’s incredible how much has changed. We had a neighbor who would let her poodle ride in her car, and everyone in town thought she was crazy for it. Can you believe? A dog in the front damned seat!
Pretty soon, dogs will be voting.

People have lost their minds when it comes to pets. I have dogs and a cat that I love very much. But, they're animals. Not people. They aren't coming with me to the store or on vacation or to visit a friend. It's my house, my life, my rules. Not the other way around.

This is my Comfort Dog, his name is GW.
If I’m invited, goddammit, he’s invited.
