they’ll be flying stand by on their connection. Not sure what time.
Also refusing to pick them up during the LSU game isn't a dick move but sending the the uber link is
Should have just told them you were wasted watching the game and couldn't drive

Sounds super trashy.
Besides extremely close family that I was excited to see, couldn't imagine anyone else picking me up from the airport. Ride share and Cabs are much more comfortable.

This my pet peeve.
And I hate when they are like, I'll give you some cash for your time. It's still not going to make me WANT to take you. If I wanted to drive you around and take your cash I'd be a cab driver.

Asking someone that isn't your immediate family to pick you up at the airport is all kinds of trashy.
And if you are going to give them money why not just call an uber

Offering to pay for an Uber is even more of a dick move. They realize it later. That’s what I do.
I don’t say I can’t or busy. I just tell them to let me know when they land and I’ll call an Uber for them...they never accept.

I live in kenner so people ask me all the time. I used to ask others, but now there is Uber.

Is there a more selfish act? Neighbor has been texting all morning if I could pick them up from the airport ‘sometime’ today as they’ll be flying stand by on their connection. Not sure what time.
Yea, bro. I don’t have anything better to do than revolve my whole Saturday around picking you up from the airport.
I told him I’ll be busy with the LSU game and sent him a link to the Uber app. Is this a dick move?
Also, last week a co-worker asked me to bring him to the airport. Granted, it’s on the opposite side of town from where I live and during rush hour. I told him to Uber and he looked at me like I was the rudest person ever for not ruining my entire afternoon for his convenience.
If it was family or friends, no issue. If it was just an otherwise healthy employed neighbor, get an Uber. If it was someone who was elderly/couldn’t drive/whose first thought when you said Uber was “Deutchsland”...I would take them.

Generally depends on the airport. I get wanting to save 30-50 each way as it adds up.
That said I don’t think I have EVER asked. My gf and her friends all do it and I won’t lie- it annoys me a bit when it pops up and she’s getting up to take someone to a 630am flight or pick someone up smack dab in the middle of dinner.

Just say no you can’t, pretty straight forward

Exactly. “I’ll give you gas money”
My car uses like $5-$10 of gas to drive to New Orleans. The pain of driving someone there and back is worth a lot more than $5 to me. But if I actually charged what it would take to be worth it, they might as well take an Uber.
Plus who would actually ask their friend for $5 for this? The point is that it is rude to even bother someone that isn’t very close to you (SO; parents) and even make them be in the situation to have to say no.

From BR Airport website...
That is cheap for long term parking!
Also looks like it's $11-15 a day long term parking at MSY.

Parking at BTR
Our parking facilities are literally in front of the terminal. Garage parking is $12 daily with covered parking spaces on the first two levels and uncovered at the top level. The economy parking lot has a $9 daily rate and is only 700 feet away from the terminal building.
