Current technology, no.
There's a huge wave of new technology coming though. Superconductors and aluminum batteries will make range and recharge time issues of the past.
Personally I don't see it as an environmental incentive so much as a logistics one. If I can avoid a gas station charge my car at home why wouldn't someone want that?

It's just like anything else in our current situation: The EV movement is happening because a handful of very powerful political figures are getting bribed and getting rich.
That's what is really driving the "man-made climate change" movement to begin with.
Those driving EVs won't be saving anything.
100 years from now whoever controls oil & gas will still be ruling the globe.

Another category to go along with the nitwits, especially with Tesla, has been people that just love the latest technology. That's a big segment. My 81-year-old engineer-brain Dad has been obsessed with the latest thing since the 1950's. A Tesla might interest him just on tech alone. He drives a gas-guzzling SUV btw.
