Its kinda sad but a lot of young professionals I know view South LA as somewhere to make a living, but not a final destination.

Like it's a plan to make enough money to leave; just make sure its before the cancer gets you.

valid point, I am the lone survivor out of 6 running buddies in high school, car accident, hunting accident, cancer, stroke, heart attack, all gone from age 17 to 29...

I always felt like this was true. It wasn’t so much cancer or illness. A mixture of crime, vehicle accidents, suicide, and bad luck. I used to say people from South Louisiana find the most creative ways to die. Fall out of deer stand, get crushed by falling furniture, hit by lightning, but by snake, etc....
