I'm sorry that it happened to anyone, regardless of wealth, but frick anyone of upper middle class who has the audacity to start a GoFundMe for themselves.

If your friends and family want to help financially, direct them to someone who actually needs it.

I would have a hard time keeping my mouth shut if an acquaintance in a place like Greystone started their own GoFundMe.

I wish go fund me would just die.

I'm in a financial bind right now bc I'm out of a job, but I'm not crying out on the Internet to get people to give me money.

I have ever a friend that lost everything and they have flood insurance. A family of 4 asking for just 1000 dollars to put some clothes on their back, some food on their table, and a way to establish some communication with the world.

They got it in about 25 donations.

This shouldn't bother you at all.

These gofundme people are lazy trash. My wife tells me that my family is white trash. But so is hers. The only difference is that my white trash family lives hand to mouth (cigarettes included) in a trailer w/ maybe one window unit A/C. Her white trash family tries to portray that they're something they're not while trying to convince me that their magic powder juice will help me w/ my chronic joint pain.

Nothing like fighting with your wife about whose family is the most trashy.

Go get welfare, food stamps or disability if they're that destitute. Then go help them. I would never allow my family to be in such situation.

But I'm a man. Maybe that makes a difference.

Dude, just from reading what nurse post on here I think she does all she can to help her family. There is no need for the "but I am a man" comment.

Correct

Something is off with OPs line of thinking

Flood zones require flood insurance-end of story

But I'll agree that living in south la you should but it anyways

How did they build homes in a flood plain and were not required to carry flood insurance?

A 100 YEAR flood plain means that the probability of flooding is at 1% therefore they were not required to get flood insurance, but as a resident of southern La, they should have known better. Every homeowner in southern La should have flood insurance whether it's required or not. It's really not a matter of if, but when.

Btw, one of these dumbasses goal is set at $100,000

The one person I saw on my feed lived in a single wide with three kids. I donated a little.

Sure guy, your family have no clothes, no food, no form of communication, no vehicles, have to get to work, and have no idea when they will be able to get their home repaired.

1000 dollars from 25 people who were more than happy to give seems reasonable.
