Getting to be damn near every intersection in BR. They are even now starting to walk in the middle of the street and wave at you.
I wish the city would give them one way tickets to the west coast. Fly out our shite homeless one-by-one.

You're right. It's getting too brazen to the point of being dangerous. These kids just start walking in the middle of airline/highland. And they come right up to your window and basically force you to converse. Wash my windshield, do ANYTHING but stop just asking me for money for nothing.

Anyone in the Ascension and Livingston areas know Droop? He is a poor man (maybe homeless) but he rides his bike through Ascension and Livingston picking up soda cans and turns them in for money. I use to always see him in his red shorts riding his bike through Galvez and Prairieville and then one time we saw him riding through Watson. This man rides all over the place and has huge legs
I thought I read that he got hit by a car like a week or 2 ago. I believe I read it on here.

Get out of the hood
Not just the hood anymore. I see them everywhere now, even in upscale areas. Seems like it's way worse than even five years ago. They're also more aggressive and entitled than they used to be. A few months back one of them called my wife a "privileged white bitch" for not giving him a cigarette. She doesn't even smoke.

I hate beggars. I have no problem ignoring them. People who truly need and want help, there are resources available. I just feel like the people at intersections are trying to take advantage of people who truly has good intentions.
Now that I think about it, I haven't been there in awhile, but it seems like everytime I pickup an order from Chimes (near campus), there are people who wait for people, who are picking up orders, to ask them. I guess they figure people who pay cash are likely to have change on them, but I ignore the piss out of them or just tell them no.
I haven't seen them much at the college drive exit in awhile, but there use to be one guy who would be there... it seemed like. a few times a week.. in the morning. There are consistently at the traffic light on corporate & college, but it is illegal for them to do that right? I wonder if the police enforce the law and they just keep going back... But they do seem to be more aggressive (I am sure they are all addicts and is trying to get their next hit), which is why the police should be more aggressive with them. If they are fiending, you never know what they will try to do to someone at a red light..

I had a guy walk up to me while I was grocery shopping. He held up an index card with some shite about hungry kids and stuff. He wanted me to buy the groceries in his cart, I said frick you very loudly and told him he better get the frick away from me or there was going to be trouble. He just moved on to the the next person down the aisle like nothing was a matter. I asked the girl at check out if they knew there was someone soliciting inside the store and she said yes, and that he was there just about every day.
Which store is that? I want to know so I never give them my business. They need to create a hassle-free and safe environment for their patrons. If they can't do that, I'm taking my business elsewhere.

I've told a few to walk over and meet me at the convenient store and I'll buy them some food. I have only had one ever that actually walked over and took something to eat.
The high majority that say they are hungry only want cash.

I switched lanes today to avoid a one legged beggar on crutches on Perkins. Tried very hard to not make eye contact

Anybody take the time to read the signs the multiple beggars at Bluebonnet/Perkins have been carrying over the weekend? I saw "basketball" but kept my gaze fixed too straight ahead to read the whole thing.

Lexington's law was thrown out by the courts. Free speech issue. The "homeless" beggars got aggressive after that so the city got aggressive, too. First they tried picking up the panhandlers and taking them to job sites which would pay them $9/hour for unskilled labor. Some took advantage of the opportunity but most just relocated to other corners to avoid the opportunity to show real need.
Then the city started running ads in media and put up signs urging Lexingtonians not to give money to panhandlers. This seems to have worked because I've noticed a significant drop in the number inhabiting prime intersections in the city.

I like to tell them my problems. Damn, transmission in the car went out today. Oh, and tuition payments are due today. Man, you know how much I owe in taxes this year.........

A guy came up to my window one time a few years back and asked " Y'all got a dolla? I'm tryna get fricked up today."
I gave him a dolla.
I gave him a dolla.

The laws against panhandling are now considered null and void as the courts have ruled its a free speech issue.

I never give them money, but there is a guy in Chicago who is usually at the corner of Belmont and Western, with a sign that says "Dancin 4 Dollaz". And the guy just busts it nonstop, dancing to whatever music he has going in his head. Usually has a huge smile on his face too. I've never given him money but he makes me laugh.
ETA, damn, found a video on him. #stopdomesticviolence
