This house defines the term "overbuilt for the area".

But there’s numerous rooms like that which could be used for the same reason. I just think with a house that large, surely there are a few rooms that basically never get used?

yeah those homes are just inefficient

biggest inefficient, obviously, is having an estate in Baton Rouge

however the 2nd is clearly the wasted rooms/space. like another poster said, 25k and 5 BR? wtf

Depends, if it's right off the entry. I'm just stating what I have observed with homeowners with similar homes.

Not only was someone crazy enough to build that house but someone was stupid enough to buy it from them.

My uncle's widow is the agent. Wonder if she'll get me a deal.

You've known people with homes like that, and every single room gets used regularly? That seems crazy to me.

I had a friend in elementary school with a house nowhere near that large but pretty large, and we used to intentionally go play in the random rooms like that just to "visit them" because they were lonely.

Not what I said...

I speaking on the rarity of use of the sitting room located near the entry. I was just saying it is typically used as a waiting room for when business associates arrive at the come.

this thing runs off of a chiller system for the HVAC. That's insane. You know what else runs off of a chiller sytem? Places like the River Center, PMAC, Lamar Headquarters, etc. they have it for their house. NBD

This house has about the same amount of restrooms as the River Center.

I was going to say the house was over priced until I saw they had the 10 commandments stored there. You can make your money back pretty easily there by charging admission

That house is worth probably at least $30 million if it were in a good location.
