In fourth grade, we had a girl get an eraser stuck up her nose.

There’s the urban legend that scared the shite out of us back in the day.

Someone threw a pencil and it got stuck in someone’s eye. The best course of action was to not remove the pencil until medical help arrives.

In many American schools, stabbing is the primary activity for which pencils are utilized by the students.

Certainly not for writing because, let's face it - the students don't know how to write.

Or read.

Or speak English.

Had a kid stab me in the hand in grammar school. He got off with no punishment because his mom was a teacher there and there was never any accountability for him. I actually got suspended a couple years later because he stole an office set out of my desk that had a letter opener in it and he cut another kid with is. His mom ended up following him to high school and got fired for banging a recently graduated student. And his life is going about as you would expect for someone who never learned accountability. I'm sure his multiple westbank baby mommas have better stories about him.

As a kid I stabbed myself with a pencil on accident in class. I can still see the piece of graphite in my hand.

After I pulled his chair out when he was trying to sit, my buddy Dieterich stabbed me in the hand with his pencil in 1976. You could see the lead in my hand for 20+ years, but it has finally gone away.

I think this is why they are starting to use computers in schools now.

We played a game in elementary to see who could stick the lead (probably graphite) tip into our own thighs and have it break off. Several of us accomplished this and the thing stayed there for years

Yes, several guys voluntarily stabbed themselves with pencils.

Kids are dumb as shite.

ETA:

Reminds of a kid that turned his eye lids inside out and couldn't flip one back over and freaked the frick out screaming before the nurse flipped it back over for him. Jack, wherever you are, just know that people don't forget.

Got stuck with a pencil in the arm that was sticking out the side of this chick’s booksack walking down the hall. That shite hurt and bled bad but could have been much worse. I screamed like a woman. That hurt too.

I have never been, nor know anyone who has been, stabbed by a pencil in a school.

Now, pretending a mechanical pencil with fully extended lead is a syringe, is a kind of pencil “stabbing” (jabbing?) I have some prior experience with.

In about 1973ish, I karate chopped a classmate resulting in hitting his freshly sharpened pencil with the pinky side of my thumb. I still have the pencil lead buried in my hand.

I got stabbed with a pencil in my leg around 1975. A cousin did it from me teasing. I see the lead every day…surprise I’m still alive.

I dropped a pencil in 2nd grade(1982-83) and the grey"lead"is still visible and I am 50yrs old.

Neither of my kids were injured by pencil stabbings.

I still have a little black dot on my leg where a girl named Katie stabbed me with a pencil in fourth grade.

ETA: and one on my palm where I accidentally stabbed myself with a mechanical pencil some years later. It has faded over time and I can barely see it now.
