Awesome link. Really enjoyed that.

I love a lot of the legacies that Buddy Holly left behind, but those damned glasses isn't one of them. Nothing makes me cringe harder than seeing a hipster-wannabe girl wearing a pair of them. Yuck.

But damn I always wonder how great Buddy could have been if he had lived a full life.

I've heard of "kindly fricking off", but "unkindly" takes fricking off to the next level

I don't think Peggy Sue was her real name.

Never mind. The song was originally named 'Cindy Lou', but the drummer got Buddy to change the name to Peggy Sue to impress his (the drummer's) future wife.

You know how middle aged people of the time felt about rock and roll when it came out? Not too fondly.

You're just like them. Congrats.

Dueling Vegas acts with Elvis at opposite ends of the Strip.

Barring bad health, he'd probably still be with us. He wasn't one for the rock and roll lifestyle as it came to be known.

In April 1991, my father and I went to NYC to appear on The Geraldo Rivera TV talk show. They filmed 2 shows that day and ours was the 2nd to be recorded.

The show they were filming before was titled "They Day the Music Died."

We got to meet Little Richard, Buddy Hollie's wife, Donna, and Peggy Sue.

Sorry to hear she's gone.

Bob is alive and well friend. He’s in one of those NCIS shows. Esai Morales.

But here’s a bit of a rattlesnake

I confess to crying when they died in the plane crash.
Lots of country singers died in car wrecks. I didn't care.

I was a junior at la grange, l.c.
Richie valens, buddy holly and the big bopper.

I didn't even care when Elvis died although he was the best of them all.

Side note on Elvis: My best friend in 9th grade impersonated Elvis, all of it, white and sequins.
Lip synced.
The first Elvis impersonator. (I didn't even know there was such a thing).
My mom thought Elvis was 2nd only to Sinatra.
She bought hound dog the single.

Peggy Sue with a heart so rare and true. Oh Peggy sue.

Maybelline was driving that Coupe Deville.

Anybody remember where Marie lived?
