In football?
Has a study ever been conducted on the impact of PEDs on a football team?

Don't be that guy giving his 3 year old steroids...

The only guy I’ve ever known well enough to admit that he took steroids (took them years ago in high school for baseball) told me he was able to gain 20+ lbs and add 8 mph to his fastball over one summer.
If it could do that to a baseball player, imagine what it could do to a lineman.

Definitely not in the cards.
But I can understand why it is tempting for players competing for positions at a high level. It can be the difference between making a team and being cut.
Then there are different categories of PEDs. All seem to make you stronger but some are better at making you faster, some better at making you bigger, some better at making you heal quicker and some give you greater endurance. So this complicates things especially when you talk about PEDs in general terms.

I've heard they can lead to shutouts.

You can put on 8 lbs of muscle in a week on steroids.
Some peds speed up healing.

A small line will do wonders. Too many lines and you go full limp noodle. Gotta find that sweet spot for the PED to work properly

Enough to break home run records that have stood for 50 years.

Im hearing old folks are starting to get heavily invested into PEDs, specifically HGH, due to its healing properties.

Lots of folks that use them have nagging injuries, and/or drug suspensions that can really hurt the team. Would think someone doing roids would have trouble playing in today's "No Targeting" game. Guys doing speed probably have trouble with the new rules too.
They've taken all of the fun out of playing defense.

LOL
You know how hard it is to put on 8 pounds of muscles with or without steroids? It's very hard much less to do it in a week.
The average male is doing very well to gain 1-2 pounds of muscle per month. Steroids improve performance but not a 1600% improvement like you are suggesting.
