Right now, if anyone would have an interest in highlighting the political party it would be Trump or anyone who plans on running for President under the Republican party.
You fail to remember the was the vile media that made Trump into what he is today. During the primaries for the 2016 election, they only focused on Trump. You didn't even know who else was running. To some degree I think there were people thinking that Trump would be a good opponent for Hilary to run against because she would win (but I think people really underestimated how disliked Hillary was/is).
A lot of all the BS rumors that were out there about Obama, I read something once that said a lot of it started from her camp in the primaries when he started to become more and more popular.
But either way, I am sure some of you will only see what you want.
