meaning you never wear a rain coat or you just buy cheap ones?

because the difference between a good rain jacket and a bad one is huge

I guess I'm getting old because that shite is awful looking. The casuals, I wouldn't be caught wearing any of it. Is that a pseudo hippie outdoorsy but I'm really a yuppie brand?

stop harping on the shite you don't want. don't buy it. patagonia = quality gear. how many companies have lifetime warranties

...that was kind of my point. I don't want or need a $45 plain Patagonia shirt or give a shite about a lifetime warranty on said shirt

You do realize a Torrentshell is a rain jacket right? Guess it doesn't rain in the "muggy arse South"...I do a lot of hiking, camping, and traveling. Most Patagonia gear is very well made and carries a lifetime warranty.

REI is better and less expensive.

Exactly. You live in a subtropical swamp. Your winter gear could be a long sleeve shirt and you'd be ok.

So true. We had not one but TWO snowfalls this last year (the last was probably a decade ago) & everyone lost their collective minds.

typical OT... Everyone's a baller, makes 6 figures and drives $80k trucks, but bitches about a $100 rain jacket.

Patagonia makes quality gear and backs it up with a lifetime warranty and awesome customer service. Made this thread as a heads up for the posters who recognize that.

When I visited Boulder, CO last year, I stopped in the Patagonia store. Wasn't impressed.

Walked across the street to the Prana store. Emptied my wallet there.

They have the same policy. Returns for life if you purchase in the store.

Prana

Prana is awesome too. I've got outdoor stuff from Marmot, Patagonia, Prana, REI, Mountain Hardware and Arc'teyrx. They're mostly all great brands. I do feel like Mountain Hardware's quality isn't quite what it once was

Nice. My favorite jacket is a Marmot.

Arc'teyrx is awesome too. I own a couple of their shirts.

Haven't tried Mountain Hardwear.

Are you fricking someone that works at Patagonia or something? You are weirdly protective of the brand

For some reason patagonia stopped making clothing for people that lift weights.

A lot of jealous poors in this thread that can’t afford nice name brand clothes.

Don’t worry, Wal mart is probably having a sale soon
