And we thought Mitch Landrieu was the one who did irreparable damage to the city. Cantrell said hold my beer and makes Landrieu look like Mr. Rogers.

Pelosi wants to steal trillions and send it out to corrupt politicians all over the country. Why not? Tens of trillions have gone to corrupt wall street, banks and corporate welfare socialists since 2008-09. What does it matter anyway?

Dude, there’s a reason every governor has protected New Orleans restaurants & entertainment. They both employee many people and bring in a lot of tourism money for the state. You cannot possibly believe that the closing of these famous institutions of the FQ will not impact the city and state long term. Small restaurants and bars do come and go but there are staples that are anchors. They are important.

i already said there will be impacts and it's sad right now
but I also see with my own two eyes that ppl are still coming here in droves despite everything being closed

What the hell are we still treating covid like it's deadlier than anything we've ever dealt with in history?
You know why. The Dems are willing to sacrifice the people in hopes it hurts Trump this November. Pretty simple

People going there doesn’t mean they are spending the $$$ and supporting as many jobs as they used to. The loss of conventions alone can kill the city which is why EWE made sure crime in the FQ was low and tourists were safe no matter what the crime was like in the rest of the state.
These federal dollars won’t last much longer and then what? You think it’s easy for someone else to just come in and start up Pat O’s again and it will be the same? What about other famous restaurants?
People all over the country have less $$$ to spend right now as they are either out of work or have hours cut. You think people will be showing up to see a depressing city that has lost the famous institutions they came to see? You think it’s going to be just as cool for tourists to take a selfie in front of Pat No’s as it used be in front of Pat O?
I know owners of 2 of the largest convention planning companies in the country and NOLA is approaching San Fran levels of Do Not Book. There’s time to run it around but denying there’s a problem won’t help the city when the fed dollars go away.

Was that Charbonnet person honestly so bad that NOLA took an import from California over her for mayor?
For a place so parochial that your high school is still an important symbol of status well into adulthood, how did an outsider pull off the win in the first place?
I don’t remember this. Can someone post a picture of Charbonnet?

More than I’d expect but a tiny percentage of what’s normal. We are talking like 70-80% declines.
Not a ghost town but it’s pretty darn rough

I stayed at Monteleone for like $105 and upgraded for $30. That doesn’t exactly scream we are busy

NOLA gets what it deserves. Poor dumb low income “people” and arrogant idiotic white folk voted for her. Hope they reap their rewards.
Personally, I hope a sink hole develops and the city falls in a pit, metaphorically speaking. New Orleans could be Austin if it had any decent leadership.
