JBE is doing the same thing on a state level. Keeping his foot on our necks to grab more Federal dollars. The idiot is trying to increase the state budget so he can hand out the largesse to his buddies. They are in lockstep on this.

There is no largesse. Too many large cities have their own issues and they’re all expensive. The pie can’t be cut in that many slices.

I’m tired of election years becoming years of catastrophe. In 2016 we had a rash of mass shootings and violent protests leading up to the elections. In 2020 we have financial ruin and crazy lockdowns.

Latoya is an ignorant bitch who I honestly think doesn't want to have great progress with the virus because I believe that her only recovery plan is for the city to stay partially shut down for longer than other places so she can try to demand that the federal government do something because "it's their fault" that all these businesses are losing $$$ and closing down, etc. I think she feels that the worse things look in New Orleans, the better case she has, but she is causing it to be that way.

She's a dumb bitch who can't even pay her own taxes on a good salary and she wants to tell other people about accountability. $95,000 in back taxes owed to the IRS - that tells you all you need to know about her management skills when she can't even manage her own money.

Lsutigerb8 or whoever will say I’m lying here too but I have another friend that owns a club in Leesville. She posted on Facebook tonight that the club has decided to close for good, effective immediately they have given up the fight.wouldn’t be hard to find if you cared to look it up.

Killing business owners that have bought drinks for deploying soldiers the night before and upon their return from deployments, doing so much good for that community. Poof!

They also own a hamburger joint in town that has sputtered along, don’t think hope is lost on that one but it’s not far behind. 100% due to JBE and his clueless ‘leadership’.

Sadly, these stories are everywhere. There’s actually a finite number of people in any given city that have the money, credit and balls to open a business. The line to replace the ones closing isn’t as long as some people think.

Business owners should band together and openly defy the government closures. There isn't anything they could do. It's a joke. We might have 580 cases in November of 2022.

What the frick did you just fricking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the frick out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fricking words. You think you can get away with saying that shite to me over the Internet? Think again, fricker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fricking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable arse off the face of the continent, you little shite. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fricking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shite fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fricking dead, kiddo.

Are they going to pull the licenses of dozens of businesses? Maybe. But at this point, what's the risk? Lose your business or lose your business?

Honestly, I’m surprised the people if Nola have gone along this long. Seems like the last city to sit by and let the city shut down their party this long.

I don’t have a clue how anyone can defend the business climate in New Orleans right now as fervently as the tiger bait guy and fightintigers. Businesses in the city are struggling mightily.

St. Charles Tavern, though it's a shithole, was open 24/7 and was around for 103 years and they have closed down. K-Paul's was extremely popular and has closed down after 40 years. You think that would be a wakeup call to Latoya and the other morons, but no, they are forging ahead with their non-plan.

You are seriously overestimating how closed the city is.

the rumors are that the party didn't stop in some communities, but the city government isn't enforcing things

middle/upper middle class white people love to follow rules, too, so it's not shocking they are being passive and accepting

I have never eaten there but I saw on the book of faces that Red Gravy moved from the quarter to magazine to try and make it. Changing customers from tourists to locals.

I think that move was happening before covid, but it may have been a quick decision right at the beginning because it happened very early on.

I’ve no doubt that the average local finds enough to do to stay entertained. We are discussing small business owners whose margins aren’t big enough to survive prolonged closings or limited capacity.
