Yeah...why would they?
Only guess would he that they know something everyone else doesn't. Assuming they are the rigging contractor and there was a failure that started it all.
Huge leap to even make that assumption though.

I see what you're saying but a company that size that's been around for over 50 years....doesnt hide something that could cause a massive failure.
I guess anything is possible

They don’t rig. And most of the time they don’t even rent the operator.
The only thing that they could have done would have been improperly tie it back to the steel structure?

I have no idea. I am not even sure if that is for sure. I just heard it from someone who knows one of the owners of the project.

Gotcha. Was just a spitball as to why this would cause them bankruptcy quickly.

They are really going to implode these fricking things. That is crazy. OT baws were right.

The entire structure?

Is this a knee jerk reaction because of the storm?
Posted on 10/17/19 at 2:39 pm to BigPerm30
I think they would rather control (as much as possible) where they land rather than wait and see what happens if they fall on their own.

I can't wait to see this. How the frick are they going to control something that is shaped and weighted like that? The counterweights are going to be interesting.

He said no crane company was willing to touch these cranes with a "ten-foot pole".
I guess no one was willing to sign off on that indemnity language.

Gravity wants them to go straight down if they can eliminate the tower support.

This was already stated by news media yesterday.

Apparently there are people walking around on top of the building now.
Posted on 10/17/19 at 2:50 pm to nolanola
No it wasn't. This is the first time they have made the decision public. They were still formulating a game plan on what the best way was going to be to handle the cranes
