I would put the academics of Baton Rouge High up against any private school in BR.
How many National Merit Semifinalists and AP Scholars does Parkview have? How many students go to top universities.
I love how people argue about subsets of students.
Impressive that they know how to learn but can they articulate that knowledge and galvanize people? Do they have the ability to think outside their norm? Are they introverts?
What I'm trying to say is these awards to don't matter except to make you feel good in the current moment. The chances are that some clown that does well but doesn't try as hard is the most successful at the end of the day from all of these schools. The AP scholar stuff will be forgotten tomorrow.
As they say, dont put all your eggs in one basket.

Maybe EBRSS needs to spread some of this excellence around to other schools instead of keeping it all at one.

The dumbest kids I went to high school with got education degrees and became teachers, the smartest gravitated to STEM.
HOWEVER, how did this thread dissolve into a comparison of the "best" schools in the area? I thought it was about some douche and his side piece.

Update: Becky has been relieved of her duties.

Dear High School Parents,
We wanted to make you aware of a change in the High School Division. Mr. Daniel McCulloch will be serving as the interim Division Head in place of Mrs. Becky Polk. Mr. McCulloch has served the Baton Rouge area for 30 years in Christian Education. Sixteen of those years included Administration roles as the Assistant Principal grades 7-12 at Christian Life Academy and Head of School at Riverdale Christian Academy. Mrs. Karen Spencer (Middle School) and Mrs. Beth Tidwell (Elementary School) have demonstrated their willingness to step up and support one another during this time. This collective effort not only strengthens our workplace but also ensures we continue to deliver exceptional results. We thank our staff for their continued investment in our school and look forward to having Mr. McCulloch’s leadership expanded to our High School Division.

Well I guess that pretty much confirms the “rumors.”

So this is just an extramarital affair? Kinda fricked up to fire people over that IMO but its a private school so whatever I guess.

I didn’t realize former Louisville quarterback Stefan LeFors was the football coach at PB.

I guess we can assume that she was previously the "division head".
From the looks of the pics of the upper portion, I bet she is not a small girl. I doubt she would attract many stares walking across the quad.

Great update...a lot of good information
Any portal entries yet? Becky 's husband out kicked his coverage, I would think he'd keep her, if it's up to him

I can think of several high profile HS coaches that met their demise this way(at other schools).

If you like weird, then BRH is great. I know , I know …. The weird, autistic kids are going to rule the world and all, but still …… try a high school prom and going to a Friday night football game and not being queer.

Parkview won a blue ribbon in 2019. Educationally they are not far behind Dunham/Episcopal.
Episcopal for example has never won a blue ribbon and Dunham has once in 2005.
Catholic has 3 since 2000, pretty good.
