My 10 y/o actually asked me yesterday. Said a friend at school told him Santa wasn’t real. I told him his friend is a liar

What was your reaction when you found out about this one?
I literally had to stop my wife from walking off a bridge. Wouldn’t change it for anything, the kid, not the wife/bridge thing.

I got kids 8 and 11 and they still believe. My 11 year old told me the other day that it doesn't matter how much things cost cause Santa is gonna bring it

My 7 year old daughter explained to me that to be a Saint you have to be dead...and Santa is Saint Nick so how can he be real.

Some little bastard ruined it for my daughter in 1st grade.
My son turns 11 this weekend and still believes, though he’s starting to question. He plans on secretly hiding his cell phone and recording through the night on Christmas Eve/morning

At six our daughter came home school one time and confided that she was upset that the other kids at school made fun of her for believing in Santa Claus. She said he exists cause her mom would never lie to her.
She came to me and asked which story is true. I told her simply that if she didn’t want presents from Santa to let me know. She’s never brought it up since and she is 13.

When oldest asked me directly, if Santa was real, I told her the truth. She was in 4th grade. Don’t remember for second daughter.

My son's 4. This is the first Christmas where he's really getting into Christmas and Santa. We're doing the St. Nick shoes under the stocking thing tonight. He's pumped. It's a joy to watch.
I still remember the moment pretty well when I went up to my mom when I was 8 or 9 and asked her as matter-of-factly as you can imagine, "Is Santa real?" Her response, after a warm smile and a chuckle: "No. Neither is the Easter Bunny." I took it pretty well, probably because it was wildly out of season to be thinking these things (it was summer vacation).

I told my 9 year old after last Christmas that Santa wasn't real. Then I went ahead and told him that the Easter bunny and tooth fairy were fake too. He was crushed for a few minutes, but git over it quick.

This was pretty much what happened at our house. I told my daughter that Santa only brings toys; he doesn’t bring phones, electronics, clothes etc. The older you get, the less toys you want so parents will start buying things instead of Santa. She’s 17 now and still gets stuff from Santa, always will.

Last year, in 3rd grade, I could tell my son knew but he wanted to believe.
This year no one is saying a word. He sat on Santa’s lap took a photo and told him he wanted an Apple Watch. He’s a good kid, I’m not going to bust his bubble.
No way he makes it to 6th grade believing in Santa. Maybe we have one more year.

My son learned about Santa at 10 years old. I believe that was the approximate age of my two older children as well. They hear it at school and begin to ask questions naturally.

I'm 44 and I still get Santa gifts from my parents and in-laws. Y'all are a bunch of no-gooder panty chasers, that's why y'all don't get Santa gifts

You're still a dick that robbed your kids of a little magic, Chris.

Let them find out on their own, but don't let them be too old or they will also question the other made up stuff we tell them to keep them good.
