He's f'ed. I hope the state doesn't even float any possibility of a plea. Charge with him two counts of capital murder and let him rot on death row.

If he drove down the interstate or through Fayetteville (Which he had to do to get to Springdale), he was captured on multiple traffic cameras. People don't realize how much of a surveillance state we live in these days.
The software can locate and key in on a particular vehicle and put together a path of travel very quickly. They probably knew the general area he went to within 24 hours. Then, it was just a matter of time before they could zero in on a particular vehicle, set system alerts for it, and start waiting for it to show up.

Not a single mention at the briefing regarding his employment and subsequent dismissal from the Oklahoma School System for inappropriate behavior with female students. Are we at O-T Lounge the only ones that know about this or did we receive some bad intel?

So being arrested is the same as being convicted?
Do we believe in ‘innocent until proven guilty’ or not?

Damn, we should have held off on speculating about this on a message board discussion

HA! Do you know how many teachers at my school have an arrest history? Ha! You have no idea.

I sure hope Miranda was done properly before he confessed.
Now, they're saying the mother did get the girls to safety and then returned to the scene.

I thought you said there was more to this story?

and they had a third child who thankfully wasn't on the trip.

Death penalty cases are hideously expensive and victims families often don't want to go through the trauma of a trial. A guilty plea in exchange for a life sentence puts the matter to bed expeditiously.

The two girls were especially helpful in getting this guy which is heroic of them, but they really don't need to have to relive this horror in court. Lock him up with no possibility of parole. Let the nature of prison takes it's course.

Are any of the arrest records related to inappropriate behavior with children?

I simply cannot fathom why she would do this

That kid looks like an absolute psycho.

Was this just a rumor? Not seeing it anywhere. If so, can we update the OP?

What exactly are you struggling with?
I simply cannot fathom what's difficult to understand about a devoted wife going back to try and help her husband fend off a knife attack and death.

The article on the press conference says the below, but it's not really clear where the girls were or why she didn't make it to the car.
"Maj. Rhoads also shared that the husband was likely attacked first, and while the mother did not make it all the way to the family's car, she did take her daughters to safety before returning to assist her husband."

In the briefing they didn't specifically say where the mother took the girls but they did confirm that she went back to try and help her husband. Her decision proved fatal but wouldn't you do the same?
