Do you put your children in a car KNOWING FULL WELL there's a risk they die in a car accident??? You piece of shite!

ETA: Misread the OP. Thought you were insinuating you were a bad parent if you sent your kid to a school where another kid previously tested positive.

Either way, if the supposed sick kid is recovered and no longer contagious, then it's fair game to send them back.

If it all comes crashing down because of this it will 100% be because of special needs parents. I work in Autism and have lost count of the times that a kid with the fricking flu or strep was dosed to hell with Motrin and brought in for therapy.

Meh. Every kid is gonna wind up getting a mild case. May as well spread and get it over with. Stay away from your old grandparents for a couple weeks.

I feel really bad for a lot of parents who end up in this situation. They've had to deal with having someone be available to watch their kids since mid March and probably need to be at work (after using all of their sick days/vacation days.
Now they will have to figure out childcare for another 10-14 days right as school is starting back.

The virus is not a risk to 99.9999% of children. The regular flu is much more deadly to them.
How do you know? Where’d you go to medical school?

Suspension. If their parents want to be so cavalier about the health of others they can home school.

Read last week where there are no documented cases of a child passing Covid to a teacher. In the world.... Now as for the janitors. Hmmmm..

Cuz the CDC said so.

From the CDC article about opening schools.
quote:

The best available evidence indicates that COVID-19 poses relatively low risks to school-aged children. Children appear to be at lower risk for contracting COVID-19 compared to adults. To put this in perspective, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of July 17, 2020, the United States reported that children and adolescents under 18 years old account for under 7 percent of COVID-19 cases and less than 0.1 percent of COVID-19-related deaths.[5] Although relatively rare, flu-related deaths in children occur every year. From 2004-2005 to 2018-2019, flu-related deaths in children reported to CDC during regular flu seasons ranged from 37 to 187 deaths. During the H1N1pandemic (April 15, 2009 to October 2, 2010), 358 pediatric deaths were reported to CDC. So far in this pandemic, deaths of children are less than in each of the last five flu seasons, with only 64.† Additionally, some children with certain underlying medical conditions, however, are at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19.*

Scientific studies suggest that COVID-19 transmission among children in schools may be low. International studies that have assessed how readily COVID-19 spreads in schools also reveal low rates of transmission when community transmission is low. Based on current data, the rate of infection among younger school children, and from students to teachers, has been low, especially if proper precautions are followed. There have also been few reports of children being the primary source of COVID-19 transmission among family members.[6],[7],[8] This is consistent with data from both virus and antibody testing, suggesting that children are not the primary drivers of COVID-19 spread in schools or in the community.[9],[10],[11] No studies are conclusive, but the available evidence provides reason to believe that in-person schooling is in the best interest of students, particularly in the context of appropriate mitigation measures similar to those implemented at essential workplaces.

legitimately do not consider it a tragedy if an adult catches a virus.

The media has convinced half the population that this is the plague.

It’s merely a respiratory virus. Many like it have been seen before, and many more will be seen again in the future

But for some reason many in the general public has been brainwashed that this is the apocalypse.

While this is true, what about all the teachers, workers, bus drivers, and office staff who are not children?

Why are they working if they are that worried about possible (and incredibly rare) complications from contracting the virus?

And if 99% of hospital employees (Baylor Scott and White data) can go to work without getting covid, why are we worried about bus drivers and admin who don’t have to have any prolonged face to face interactions with kids?
