Those of us 55+ and older, never rode a day in a car seat. Hell I rode hundreds of hours on a fender of a JD 4020. You guys are way too soft.

rest assured no insurance and the other driver even if they are not at fault their insurance company will still settle with the parent of the unrestrained child.
Just like what ever tire company settled with the family for an outrageous amount even though they had the WRONG tires all well worn out in the I-10 crash near highland a few years back - and NOBODY was restrained.
we pay for the dumbassery

UWK
I saw this story on here as well. The New Roads Police Chief resigned. The mayor now needs to resign. The mayor of NR is known for going to downtown BR on any given day at whatever bar he feels like going to and gets escorted by the same NRPD deputy who serves as his "body guard" as well. Evidently the city council has addressed this numerous times, but they do not have the power to do anything about it.
Sorry, just saw that sorry, now back to the main topic.

used to ride in the back of the truck on top of the wood pile on the way home.
Same shite we used to let the tailgate down and let our legs hang off the back of the tailgate (dad wasn’t going faster than 20-25)

When I was about 6 years old, I'd go cut wood with my dad about 10 miles from our house. I used to ride in the back of the truck on top of the wood pile on the way home.
When I was 7 and older sister, 9 rode in the back of pickup from BR to DFW on vacation in August. Truck had camper/ cover/shell. Way better than riding up front w/mom & dad, no AC & chain smoking the whole way.

I'm pretty sure that car restraints and their safety benefits have been written about.
If not, I am pissed I spent $400 on my son's car seat.
Woman's Hospital offers free car seats to all new Mom's who can't afford one for their new born! No excuse!

Yeah, well, all the kids back then who died doing similar things aren't here to post about them.

When I was born, thru 4th grade, we lived in Vidalia, LA, just across the Mississippi River from Natchez, MS. I once went to a girl's skating party in Natchez with a friend's parents, and rode across the river in the back of a pickup. My mom never let me leave the house again with them.
