Dude its 9:15 pm nighttime here in florida. The kid was at the waters edge. Alligators are barely noticeable because the only thing showing is usually the top of the head. How fast does it take a gator to grab something of the bank? Even if there was proper lighting it would have been hard to see the gator coming. They could have been a few feet away when that gator grabbed that baby. How are they at fault because they aren't holding their child 24/7?

You would be wrong.

I've raised two, healthy children, neither of which hurt themselves or others with guns, they never died in a hot car, had to be rescued from zoo cages, or got eaten by alligators. Police don't need to randomly beat the shite out of them or shoot them because they were raised to show the proper respect. They have grown to understand that free shite isn't free, and the pleasure of owning something pales in comparison to the pleasure of EARNING something.

I wouldn't say it was out of nowhere. The kid was in the water, in Florida, at night.

No sorry, fail book is for losers.

I just have no need for sugar coating stuff. Lots of blame to go around here and the parents should get their share.

If you're not holding a 2 year old or holding the hand of a 2 year old near water they are unsupervised.

The parents were feet away from the child as reported by the police.

Feet away and obviously not paying attention to the child and he was able to wander into the water.

Now you may be ok with time if it is similar to your parenting style, but it is what it is. shite parenting.

No wonder it took your kids 2 years to learn to walk if you think you have to be holding them all the time

That's a very compelling argument.

Even for a douchebag like you.

The boy was playing along the shore of the water when the alligator snatched him and dragged him into the lake, officials said. The family was sitting near the water.
There are no warning signs of gators in the area, but there are notices posted against swimming in the man-made lake

Ok loser! yeah I'm sure when you attend a Disney park the first thing you think of is alligators swimming in the lakes especially being from Neb.
Trust me Disney will pay and if they use your logic they will pay a lot.

Snipe sounds like one of those parents whose kids breastfed until they were 12

There is no point in arguing with people like you. Y'all are the worst. I just hope you are a woman.

And everything you have said in this thread is laughable.

There wasn't the internet back then. News networks could dictate exactly our reaction. But that doesn't mean no one felt that parents weren't at fault. They did and there was no way for them to be heard.

This case differs in that the parent brought the child into a prohibited area.

Playing at the waters edge or in ankle deep water is not prohibited.

On the news last night some Disney official stated just that. They didn't want you swimming but people/kids always played in the shallow water and Disney did not care.

TL;DR but do you have kids? I agree it does no good to parent blame or shame but when there are parents out there that are blatantly bad at being a parent then they should be called out. They may not even know they are shitty parents.
