There is a sign on the beach, but no telling what it says.

You posted this above a picture of the beach that you also posted with the sign clearly visible in the front of the picture that clearly says do not enter, no guests.

Wow. Just wow.

You both sound like typical sniveling liberals. Can't handle that someone having different opinion than you so the personal attacks and passive aggressiveness come out.

It's hilarious that you say that when you stepped right into an OP that called out this new breed of helicopter holier than thou parent blamers. And then you provided your helicopter holier than thou parent blaming opinions. So it sounds like you are the sniveling liberal helicopter parent unleashing your helpless entitled snowflakes on our society. Congratulations.

The sign in the image is not on the beach. It sits above the rocky area.

That's what I assume, but that sign could say "Free Hot Dogs" for all I know.

*edit
It's also been pointed out that the sign apparently just says deep water, no swimming.

when my son was 2 I wouldn't have let him walk into water without me standing right next to him. In fact until he learned to swim I'd be careful, but at toddler age I would have been right there.

ETA: I don't blame either party, it was an accident. I can't imagine how many times this exact scenario happened without incident.

It isn't. It just says no swimming. Same design does not equal same message.

The other one telling people to not enter a steep rocky drop off area.

That type of person is the reason I deleted facebook.

But really, ain't nobodies business how you choose to raise your kid. But SJW's make it their business to make sure you raise your kid in a way that's acceptable to them.

I've read that he was holding the sons hand and that he was a few feet away.

Do we know which is true? Either way, being a few feet away isn't leaving the kid unattended. If the kid falls face first into the water the parent could get to the kid within a second.

Technology has been amazing for us and also crippling. I think there are so many people who can start these movements now and they find so many followers to run with their ideas.

Also because of social media, everyone posts what they want you to see which gives people a sense of utopia re certain people. You keep seeing pics on your FB of the perfect family, the perfect this the perfect that. They wait and post the best photo of something with everything around it cropped out, once again only showing you what they want you to see - they post updates only about what they want you to know, etc. etc. IT'S NOT REAL LIFE - or at least not the ENTIRE story!

No one is perfect. I think social media and technology is what has gotten us here.

And either way this could happen. Holding the boy's hand doesn't make him automatically safe, I think we can all agree with that.

Did the dad dive in after the gator, I'm pretty confident I would.

Raising children is a reality that has become all but completely foreign to the virtual, distorted, sick, sterile, pretend-perfect world of social media.
