My country cousins tried to con me into that one. I didn't bite but did catch wire on accident once and was not pleasant but scared me more than really hurt.

I remember they got in fight once and one shot the other with BB gun, and then took off running and his little brother grabbed a dart and threw it right into his back. I am laughing as I type this. It just stuck there. We fell on the floor laughing.

They were way meaner and tougher than I was. Being a city boy and all.

What fun times we had back then. Kids are so screwed today. We were outside all day and night.

my buddy had a hole in his wall from his doorknob that went right through to his brothers room. We were shooting his bb gun through it right when his brother stuck his eye up to it to spy on us. Traveled around his eye into the back of the socket and it's still there to this day.

I think when a child dies by tragic circumstances you should always support the parent first. Offer support and compassion because losing a child is the most devastating event anyone can experience.

However...
There should be a time and place for the open discussion of "why and how" the tragedy occurred. Because these questions need to be explored in order to educate parents about the potential dangers that surround parents and the children we are charged to protect.

It's absolute truth, but then again that's what this world is, is everyone wanting to be at the top looking down. On the other hand, social media is just that, social media. You read the stories and then give your input, it's not a surprise many are assholes. 35 years ago, there was no internet or twitter to read everything because if there was, you can bet your arse parents would have been blaming and shaming.

Gorilla kid's parents are shite

Alligator kids parents are shite

Hot car kids parents are shite.

Unsecured firearm kids parents are shite.

There are a hell of alot of shite parents out there, and I do not believe they should be insulated from hearing the truth about how shitty they are. My preference would be to have them charged with negligent homicide.

The Internet is serious business. As a parent...I've never even had a social media account and IDGAF what people say on them. Not one single line, much less a wall of text. I'm too busy raising my son, making sure he kicks the shite out of their little snowflake when the whistle blows.

While I agree with the sentiment, I have to say that leaving a 6 year old unattended in a department store and an 18 month old alone in the backyard to play is the very definition of shitty parenting

A gator striking from out of nowhere to grab your child goes under the "once in a million chance crazy stuff happens" category. I don't see how blame is placed on anyone in that case

Don't agree on this one. People From Nebraska. How many gators they have out there? I read how Disney says there are signs posted but yeah I'm sure Disney will have these signs everywhere so the tourist can be scared shitless. The dad was probably only a few feet away from the story. Those gators are hard to see in the water but I would know that because I grew up in South Louisiana these people are from Nebraska. Disney should pay and will pay for this one.

I didn't read all that shite but agree that 'holier than thou' parents suck. Adults without kids that think they're fricking experts on parenting are even worse.

I really hope the first comment was:

Your parents suck and you suck as a parent because who knows what your kids are doing while you typed that novel. I hope you at least hired someone to watch them.

Absolutely parent's fault in this. Don't get me wrong Disney is shite too for knowingly having alligators in resort lakes where kids are going to be kids and play in the water, but the parents let a 2 year old child wonder wonder into a lake unsupervised. Now the fact that you do not see this as negligence on the parents part shows that you do not have kids, and are unaware of just how unstable and unaware a 2 year old is. 2 years old is just about the time a child is learning to walk. And the let this child near water, unsupervised?

Had the parent been standing right beside the child holding his hand and the alligator grabbed the child the result would likely have been the same, but the parent was not in that situation. The 2 year old child was left to his own devices at the water's edge by shite parents.

The fact that you think it takes a child until 2 to start walking tells me YOU don't have kids

Yes they did.

If you're not holding a 2 year old or holding the hand of a 2 year old near water they are unsupervised.

The parents were feet away from the child as reported by the police.

Feet away and obviously not paying attention to the child and he was able to wander into the water.

Now you may be ok with time if it is similar to your parenting style, but it is what it is. shite parenting.
