re: Paraguayan senator may have gone overboard with the racist language

Celeste Amarilla (a Paraguayan senator), on Kylian Mbappé: “This brute hasn't even learned to write. Instead of breastmilk, he grew up sucking on coconuts, and the most educated creatures he ever heard were chimpanzees. You should've given him the middle finger, Orlando Gill (Paraguay GK). A colonized Cameroonian, pretending to be tough, French, resentful, nouveau riche, arrogant, and ugly. He was nervous and scared stiff the whole match, like his entire team. They couldn't score a single goal, they won by sheer luck… The only thing many of us criticize the Paraguayan national team for is not giving him a good thrashing after the match. And I'm not even a football fanatic.

She apologized sort of
quote:
She said she regretted some, not all, of her racist remarks

Nah, frick all that. What an absolute arse she's made of herself and given the response by the Paraguayan government, her career is finished
This was her response to Mbappe, which was totally fair on his part. He would clearly make a better politician as well
quote:
Amarilla, a member of Paraguay's Radical Liberal Party, called on Mbappé to say sorry for calling her a "despicable woman who is unworthy of office" and accused him of sexism.
"My posts were written in the heat of the moment," she said. "My mixed-race blood -- the beautiful blend of Indigenous and Spanish heritage that runs through my veins -- was boiling.
"Later, I regretted responding with the same insults that I myself have received, because I too have been looked down upon for being dark-skinned, Latin American and, as they call us, sudacas.
"I realised I was repeating the very behaviour that I despise, so I deleted the post," she added. "I understand that it upset you, because it was humiliating.
"Now I expect you to do the same: withdraw your remarks and apologise to me. I will not tolerate your aggression. You have no idea who I am and you have no right to say that I AM A DESPICABLE WOMAN, UNWORTHY OF THE OFFICE I HOLD.
"This is gender-based violence, plain and simple," she said. "It is political violence against a woman who reached her position through the votes of her people. "Retract your remarks, honour your French citizenship and apologise to me. Otherwise, I may begin legal proceedings on the grounds of gender-based violence."
This was her response to Mbappe, which was totally fair on his part. He would clearly make a better politician as well
quote:
“Madame Celeste Amarilla, you are a despicable woman and unworthy of your position. You do not represent Paraguay, that country which has sweated passion and honour throughout the competition,” he wrote on social media.
Through your recklessness and your ?brazen racism, the entire world has already forgotten the journey and the historic effort that your players accomplished during this World Cup, making way ?for an incompetent woman who gives the worst possible image of her country.”

if blacks are more athletic, why are they the ones missing their penalty shots?

Which part is racist?
Maybe the part where she calls him a monkey growing up sucking coconuts and learning from chimps?

Where did she call him a monkey? How is comparing his most educated conversation to be with chimps racist?

You’re too dumb to argue with right now but I hope that gets better for you because life is hard when you’re that stupid.

Just trying to see if maybe you two were in agreeance.

Is it racist if she’s talking about a white player?
If yes, why? If no, you can’t stop yourself from associating black dudes with monkeys for some reason - that’s fricked up bro ;)

Again - she is the source for the statement, and she admitted she was pissed off and lashing out and being racist.
So you might wanna pick a different hill to die on

Because clearly she thinks like you and believes black people resemble monkeys.
Zero way for you escape the fact you’ve just acknowledged this. If we replace chimpanzee with another animal, say flamingos, in her statement, is it racist still?
Stop trying to convince the rest of us black people are monkeys you racist fagot ;)

You’d have to ask her since she’s the one who said it and then admitted she meant it in a racist way
Feels like a pretty huge piece of the equation that you are conveniently ignoring

I’m asking you, because you’re clearly in agreement that her comment was racist. I don’t think it as racist at all - unless of course you, and obviously her, subscribe to the belief black people are chimps.
Can’t believe you came in trying to shame people for their brazen racism on this site and within like 3 posts you’re just stunting on all of us by insisting we all acknowledge black people are chimps.
Much respekt

Black soccer players in Spain and Italy still get bananas thrown at them and fans making monkey noises at them. Why do you think that is?
Oh yeah, he grew up eating coconuts and learning from chimps, she totally didn’t call him a monkey she was trying to say he was like Tarzan
If you’re going to be disingenuous in your arguments at least be more clever about it.

The funny thing is some posters will see this and still say she's not racist.
