Panhandlers in Slidell

It's always seemed to be bad but I swear yesterday was the worst I've seen it. There were like 10-15 in a 3-4 mile radius around Gause and Walmart/Lowes on Natchez Drive. I remember seeing some woman on Facebook saying she heard one of these panhandling women say if someone gave her a dollar she wouldn't accept it, only if it was like 10 dollars she would take it. I swear most of these people are BS. Anyone else witnessed this or anywhere else in Louisiana?

Slidell has definitely become a panhandlers paradise. I see them coming out of the ratty motels off of Gause every morning on their way to "work".

I just give them ketchup packets. That way if they get that food they are asking for they have condiments.

Cdaniel made a Facebook page complaining about them IIRC. Slidell PD and STPSO have arrested them, and then the ACLU came in threatening to sue both for denying bums the right to assemble and protest or some shite.
I was smoking a cig about a week ago on Claiborne, and a bum came up and asked me for one. I told him no, and he offered to buy one. First offer was $0.25 and next offer was $1. I gave him one for $1, and we had a good laugh that he was buying cigarettes with other people's money.
