I have zero issue with this. If you aren’t engaged in bad stuff, you have nothing to worry about.

New Orleans needs drastic changes, which require drastic measures

Ever hear of cops abusing background check databases or running someone's license plate for non-crime related personal reasons? Wait until some cop has a personal grudge with someone or breaks up with a girlfriend and uses this to pattern their behavior to stalk them.

Based on the crime rates that technology must not be worth a shite.

Secretly? I've been reading about this for years.

The crime rates reduced because the 30 people committing 50% of the city's murders were simultaneously put in jail. That's a great strategy to reduce crime.

However, the void operates like a vacuum, and new people pick up the slack.

I'm a DBA and used to work for a Tax Software and Law Enforcement systems company in North Texas.
I can tell you most PDs and SOs systems track every query a user does by unique user id and machine/ip used to execute the query.

What you mentioned is the exact reason that stuff is tracked now.

I know for a FACT BRPD officers can't just willie nillie do searches on that kind of shite without reason.

Really?

Former Galena Police Officer Senetenced in Stalking Case

State Trooper arrested for using police database to stalk ex-girlfriend

Akron police officer sentenced for attaking, stalking ex-girlfriend

Police across US misuse databases to look up celebrities, romantic parnters and others

I know about Act 271, but somehow, I still think some cops will feel they won't get caught.

Truth.
But there are at least controls in place to deter that behavior.
Some people think officers are sitting in their cruisers looking at porn and stalking citizens all day long on those laptops.
