If you can't go all out got the top if line product then use SW Pro Mor 200. Most used paint I see in commercial - retail construction.

Unless you are a contractor, this is terrible advice. Retail price on contractor paint grades is absurd, regardless of brand. Retail on 200 is probably more than SuperPaint.

It's better than super. It covers well, hides lack of experience well and touches up.
Along with decent paint you will need quality equipment to apply whatever paint you decide on. Think Purdy brushes and quality roller covers. Get these at SW and Ben Moore stores.

I bought valspar paint and primer and it worked very well. Did my whole kitchen, foyer, and island with one gallon of paint and I still have some left over.
Last time I used Behr I needed multiple coats on everything. But that was about 10 years ago so I'm sure they've improved it since

Pratt and Lambert is very good paint - put some in a room twenty years ago and the paint looks like it was applied yesterday.

I use Behr premium plus on custom/personal stuff
They own Kilz and we use that on some stuff. There is a very small supply at home depot but we get it shipped.
The Kilz is comparable to the builder grade SW.

My painter uses Farrell Calhoun. He claims it touches up better than SW (which I have to say I'm believing now) and that SW has multiple different lines of paint whereas FC has like, 2? Helps when years later you're going to buy more paint.

I like SW, but you're dead right about the multiple lines.
That said, SW is extremely durable.

BM Regal Select is all that I use for interior.

How often do you like to Paint?
Best
BMoore
Pratt Lambert
Farrel Calhoun
Better
SW (top of the line only)
Clark Kennsington
Behr
Good
Valspar
Olympic
Ace Royal
Cheap
Glidden
Store brands - almost all made by glidden
Exterior
either SW or BM nothing else
Best paint brands will last longer and cover better
BM is the best with deep colors

I used to spend 6 figures a year at Sherwin Williams (Commercial Contractor)
Over the last 10 years
I use Coronado Paint
I love it
Tough Walls Flat is my favorite

Benjamin Moore vote here
but get you a contractor series cut in brush from SW. It has 442 on the handle.

Go with Benjamin-Moore. It will hold its color value for much longer than any other line out there. Their Aura line is top-notch with Regal Select also being very nice. I prefer their oil-based Satin Impervo for trim and doors.

Go with Behr. Their Kilz ProX is comparable to Pro Mor and Behr Marquee is an elite paint. Plus places like SW tell you 30% off but their gallons are priced extremely high. Behr Premium Plus is already cheaper regular price than the discounted SW price. For quality at the best price Behr is your answer.

Unless you plan to be able to use your buddy's account forever, go with the sale. If you can't get contractor prices on contractor grade paint, it isn't worth it...it literally never goes on sale. Additionally, contractor grade paint comes in gallons and 5's. If you only need a quart of something down the road, you're going to have to drop 50 bones on a gallon of contractor grade and find somewhere to stash the extra for a long time instead of just 15 on a quart of DIY.

They own Kilz
Behr dooesn't own Kilz, Masterchem owns Kilz. Masco owns Masterchem and Behr, along with other companies like Delta faucts and Kraftmaid.

Oil is a pita.
Does it still yellow out after a while?
