Assuming that's the truck (and my invoice and holdback numbers are just a general reference for the industry)

63195 x .90 (dealer invoice) =

56875.50

63195 x .03 (dealer holdback) =

1895.85

56875.50 - 1895.85 = 54979.65

Minus 2500 customer cash (which the dealership will make back) puts you at:

52,479.65

Take off the extra $500 from Ford credit (which you can take and then refinance for a better rate through a credit union) and you're at $51,979.65.
That's about 17% off MSRP and doable if you negotiate correctly. If you've already told them you wanted to trade in so that takes away some of your leverage but stick to negotiating the lowest price you can get first and go from there. The out the door price, which includes TT&L, depends on where you live, but I'd guess it would add somewhere between $4500 & $5500 to the price. You're looking at around $56-57k OTD (out the door).

If it were me, I'd talk to them and see how close they can get to $51,500 and go from there. If talks stall, tell them you'll do a deal today only if they throw in floors mats, 5 or 6 free oil changes, bedliner...something extra. If you show them you're motivated I guarantee they'll add in some free shite. Good luck

My assumption is that your numbers are about right.

This Truck had bed-liner as well as regular carpet mats and upgraded rubber mats.

I’d like a bed cover.

Dealerships get awesome buy rates. The op might could use the rate to get the last bit out of the dealer.

I'll go a little over 50k if you can get my rate to x%. This would let them dig into reserve a little bit for some extra guaranteed money in the front.

I could tell you how to get the best deal on a vehicle, but you'd have to not give a frick about your payment, whether bc you're refinancing or payment just isnt an issue.

Total price doesn’t matter. All that matters is the monthly note.

It doesn't matter what you pay for the truck once you muddy it up with a trade. Just negotiate bottom line.

And call Lamarque Ford in Kenner.

Oh I agree, I was just saying if it were me I'd see how far they could push that rate while still trying to get that extra $500 from financing through Ford credit then check after the sale to see if there are other rates out there he might be able to take advantage of if he felt the need to refinance.

As for the other part, I'm thinking we have a similar opinion on how to get a really good deal and not giving a shite about the payment...but I only do that on my personal vehicles and usually dont recommend for others, lol.

OP...aim to get that bed cover you were speaking of. If you told then you'd come in ASAP and make a deal, I guarantee they'll be more inclined to put one on there. Just have them email a confirmation of that and the pricing numbers 1st before you drive over there (if you can get it signed by the finance manager, even better). If they pull some dumb shite when you show up, kindly let them know you will blast them on social media and have email evidence to back up your claims. I have done this...and it is a sight to behold lmao.

This is what I've learned from OT vehicle threads.

I wasn't disagreeing with you. I was just adding options to your post.

I bought a 2018 lariat fx4 with the v8 from Supreme in Slidell back in March. Msrp was $62k I paid 48,500 with a spray in bed liner and 0% financing.

They can absolutely do better than 53

OP,

If you aren't picky about color or the Platinum package, you might be interested in this truck:

Bill Hood Ford

No sunroof but I can vouch that they will work to get you in the price range you want. I looked at a similar Lariat from there back in September (only difference was it had a sunroof & a few other items) and had me at $50,950 (wanna say MSRP was $62,750) before TT&L while throwing in a bed liner. I ended up buying a Denali instead but they were receptive to my questions and the negotiating and I would've gladly done business with them if I hadn't gotten a better deal for my GMC.

Also, are you a Costco member? If so you could search that exact truck and see what their "no-haggle" price is. I want to say the one on my truck was like 51k. I used that as a starting point to negotiated down.

I got it for $55,500. :(

You must not have gotten the Platinum Finance Package to go along with it. It protects the paint, tires, wheels, upholstery, etc. I even got a 4 year, 36,000 mile warranty. He wasn't sure, but he thought that was an additional 36,000 over the regular 36,000 mile warranty. We are going to look into it when I go in for my 40,000 mile checkup.

What size wheels?

Add in a $1600 Roll N’ Lock bed cover, weather tech floor mats, leveling kit and you’re right at $52k.

As well as a 120k mile 3 year warranty

That’s how you negotiate

Y'all laughed, but this mother fricker right here is on point. Lol

Now, shut up. Who's going to work on it if they buy the cheap, Mexican made version in Texas?

Congrats on escaping Slidell with your life. Stick to Mandeville or Covington next time.
