Nope, doesn't have to be.
After being married over 30yrs it's better now than it ever was. Obviously there are changes:
multi-hour sessions and same-day multiple sessions are rare events any more but they do still happen;
every day is out the window, sometimes back-to-back days, a few scattering 3 days in a row, but honestly 3-4 times per weeks is plenty now;
and because we know what each other likes and are unselfish givers the quality is off the charts better than I ever would have believed when I was much younger and earlier married.
One of the important things to remember is to view your life and relationship(s) in terms of "seasons" not taking conclusions day-to-day.

My wife and I got married later on in life. Both of us had been previously married and had been single for a while. My wife is in her early 40's and has hit that stride where she is all about it. Hell, I find myself faking headaches sometimes now! She would be perfectly happy with twice a day everyday!
I recently got on trt so the frequency has picked up even more now. We travel when whenever we can and keep things fresh. Having older kids that can watch themselves helps obviously.

Lots of variables involved , probably could construct a flowchart.
Banged first wife (no pics) 3 to 4 times a week even with having two children. Then out of the blue she decides that I am boring and she needs a millionaire so I get tossed out and cast aside.
Got a better second wife ( no pics), no kids ,but she just lays there and only wants one position and I have to do all the foreplay activity, so 3 times a week can be an effort.
I've accepted the fact that something is wrong with me.

I guess this comparison would work if you were doing it in the same position every time and not cumming at the end.
We're not on decades yet but it's still pretty easy to mix things up and when you're actually good at it, it's not at all monotonous.
