Dr.tryger half way thru final week 13 of x3 obvious changes in my body shape ,weight is
slightly down. I am not ready to stop ,did classic considering lean. What would you suggest. I also need a good ab program the package I bought did not include it. Thanks for all your help I'm feeling great at the end of round 1 and know my journey is just beginning

If you wanna lose weight do lean.

If you want to add bulk do mass.

For abs there's the x3 deluxe disks that cost extra that have x3 ab ripper in them but IMO there's enough ab work in the regular disks with Pilates, etc.

I still might get the deluxe DVDs eventually for the complex upper and lower workouts and x3. If you don't want to do that you can work in x2 ab ripper or ab ripper classic.

I'm thinking of using the original ab ripper from P90X. It's only 11 minutes of hell. If there is one thing I'm disappointed in P90X3 it is the ab work, and I'm not buying the extra dvds for it.

Double hernia surgery next month, but I'm still working the program until the procedure.

Isometrix yesterday. Balance has always been an issue with me, but I'm getting better.

cvx completed this morning. It took everything I had to actually get out of bed to do it Biggest thing I noticed in today's workout was that at the end doing chair/crescent I was actually able to keep my hands up the whole time where previously I'd just held the weight at my chest the whole time, so that's good.

Headed to the beach tonight as soon as I get off work. Have to find a way to get in Warrior tomorrow on day 1 of vacation and then Isometrics on Monday, but I'm pretty sure I'll get it done. I've been working too hard to skip on a day now.

got my chocolate shakelology in the mail yesterday. Didn't like what the wife cooked so I had a shake with just water. That was pretty rough. Mixed in some fat free milk, a banana, and some vanilla protein powder for breakfast and it tasted much better.

That's an attitude that a lot of people seem to have.

A concept you have to grasp is the concept of direct ab work to maintain aesthetic abs is pretty flawed.

Why do you do crunches an situps and other ab exercises? To make your abs look better right? When do abs look better? When your midsection has very little body fat and they show up all cut.

But abs are like any other muscle. We work muscles in the manner in which they're evolutionarily intended to make them stronger. Our chest was designed to push things away so we do pushups. Our biceps were designed to create flexion at our elbow so we do curls.

What were our abs designed to do? It certainly wasn't to move our torso a few inches off the ground while we're sitting. They're stability muscles. They help us maintain balance and centralized strength from the whole body. So what's the best way to work that? Doing athletic things like jumping, sprinting, engaging core muscles, instability exercises, planks, etc.

Now, does this mean that all traditional ab workouts are useless? No, they still serve to build some strength. But this idea that you have to have a dedicated ab workout several times a week is just fundamentally flawed.

Ask elite athletes everywhere how often they work abs. Most of them will say rarely.
In fact, most fitness programs will admit that they only include ab routines in the program as more of selling point. X3 originally didn't have an ab ripper in it. Tony Horton admitted to adding one because Beachbody wanted to use it as a marketing tool.

tl;dr version: you work your abs plenty in X3 if you're doing it right.

2 hours after doing CVX and my abs are still tightened up and yelling at me for punishing them. Everything, especially the balance type things, require the abs to be engaged the whole time whether it's realized or not which is lovely because I fricking hate sit-ups and leg raises and shite like that. You couldn't look at me and see all of that though, because I'm skinny-fat now isntead of gargantuan fat like I used to be, but I know the works getting done for sure

Today is day 48 for me and I'm feeling great. My weight is down a little, but I can tell a difference in how my clothes fit and how I feel.
Surprisingly to me, MMX is my favorite workout. It really gets the sweat going and I love Alice's giggle!
