One of my wife's close friends is VERY pretty, and lives out of town. She gained some weight for various reasons, but to me it didn't look like much. She was MAYBE 150 when she should be 130ish due to height and so on.

She went on Ozempic and I thought that was completely absurd. Granted I don't know if she had any health issues that she needed it for, but she went on it She did lose like 20+ pounds quickly and looks great.

But I think Ozempic should be for people that need to lose 50+ pounds at least, not 20

Harahan. The place where time stood still.

We have a nice safe community here. There's a lot to do and many good restaurants to enjoy with a very low crime rate. I never go to New Orleans.

EDITED ADDITION: This happened today in New Orleans. This is why I don't go into the city anymore.

People will do anything but actually diet and exercise to lose weight.
If you believe that, and I'm not disagreeing with you, then you should wholeheartedly support the use of these drugs for weight loss. Unless you're fine with the ticking time-bomb that is the obesity rate in this country.

A whole lot of "people should" posts in this thread that seem more about farming upvotes in exchange for folksy wisdom like "move more, eat less" than actually addressing the problem of obesity.

Of course people should eat better/less and exercise more. Everyone knows this. But, there's how things should be, and how things actually are.

Most people don't make major lifestyle changes, and most people probably never will. Now what? We just keep dealing with increasing strain on the healthcare system as a society and bitching about fatties on message boards?

These drugs aren't perfect and might not check the blocks on your virtue checklist, but unlike a lot of the trite shite that's been posted here, they're providing tangible results.

Sure, there are side effects, but as long as they're less costly and common than obesity-related heart disease, cancers, and diabetes, I'd consider them a net positive.

Lost 28 pounds on Ozempic. Went from 229 last March to 201 in September. Hit a plateau that remained.
Haven’t been able to take a shot in three weeks because the supply is low and my pharmacy can’t fill the prescription.

Initially , last March, I was losing weight at about 2.6 lbs per week but once I hit about 202 lbs…it came to a halt. I ate clean for a while but then I gained back about 5 of those lbs.

Do you still walk 1 mile per day and lift at Anytime Fitness or just doing the Ozempic?

Not on Ozempic currently but I still walk about 2 miles per day and climb stairs at work. Not much lifting at this moment. My left shoulder has bursitis and it is difficult to move my left arm to full range.

Ozempic and Wegovy could help you shed unwanted pounds and keep obesity-related disease at bay — but you could lose some muscle in the process, some experts warn.
