Or maybe, just maybe, he was warned earlier? Look at the guy next to him, he knew it was coming.
so the cop couldn't have just grabbed the dudes arms and pulled them behind his back? force like that is supposed to be used when resisting, not blindsiding

Did you see the size of that guy? You don't always get a second chance at things.

so the first action from the cop is this? not what WTF do you think you're doing? get a new line of work!

Even if the Bama douche was warned what that cop did isn't right. That was assault. Now go back to your donut deputy.

oh man, you're right, that guy was really big and scary...should've just tazed him or pulled his gun then, dont take any chances!
if the dude runs, you call backup and follow him...you know, actual police work rather than glorified bouncer with a badge

Boys and girls, just to clarify, I'm not a LEO in any shape or form. Just being the Devil's advocate. Being as it's on the interwebs and all, it should be addressed and dealt with in the appropriate manner, if there was any wrong doing.
Have a nice day. By the way, go Rebels or Black Bears or……..

Damn. Grabbing a person by their neck is a very bad way to go about arresting somebody.

If that was a black guy he did it to this would be a national crisis.

All I see is people arguing about the take down and not the actual crime. The dumbass throwing the cups is a fricking idiot. What if that cup hits a kid in the head? I see nothing wrong with this action taken by security. I have one question for everyone.
How could this situation been avoided???
Simple answer: Don't be an idiot and throw shite in the stands.

He must have thought he was African American no way a cop does that to a white dude.
Cop should get his eyes checked.

That's what you get when you act like a drunken arse. Shoulda also been tea-bagged. Oh wait, bammer fans are the tea-baggers...

If that cup full of liquid hits a child in the head, that would be bad. He can tackle as many cup throwers as he can, IMO.

If that full drink hits someone in the head the guy is committing an assault. When you are committing an assault I would think a cops job is to stop it quick as possible with no threat for said attempted assault to continue. When people are committing crimes a tap on the shoulder usually doesn't stop them. I'm sure the drunk fan throwing things would shake his hand and apologize. I mean drunks throwing things are the most reasonable people as we all know. I'm surprised this is getting a reaction. I will bash a cop in a heart beat but this is just reaching

I would sue the stadium and whatever security firm / police force that guard works for.
That was clearly excessive force. Anyone who says differently is kidding themselves.

Again....I have no problem bashing cops. But I also don't have an agenda to push. Cops didnt kill my dad because lack of CPR or whatever nonsense so I don't make it my life mission to hunt them down.
The guy was was committing a potential assault that could lead to medical attention. Full cops falling at you can do damage.
Couple of years ago I was laying down on the floor watching tv when my friends 2 year old picked up my half filled 20 oz sprite...it fell out of his hands as he was picking it up and hit me right under my left eye....maybe a 1 foot fall...required 4 stitches and still have a scar from it.
All it takes is one of those cups to hit the wrong person at the wrong angle in the wrong spot for something serious to go down....add to it that he was drunk...stop the situation quickly as possible. Remove the threat of injury.
And as someone said before....one of the guys knew what was coming so it definitely looked like there was some knowledge that he needed to stop what he was doing. That's the problem with clips like that...no context is ever involved. Even outside of non cop stories clips show what we want to push and ignore context that changes the whole outlook
