The light-brown horse stood at attention, its bridle tied to the hitch of a pickup truck with a thick leash. Then the truck accelerated.

As its tires rolled over the snowy road, the leash quickly became taut, pulling the horse by its headgear. The horse, later identified by the name Trigger, leaned back, as if bracing itself for a game of tug-of-war, but its hooves slipped on the snow.

quote:

The truck sped up, dragging Trigger behind it as the horse thrashed its head and flailed its legs, trying in vain to resist the moving vehicle.

It drove another hundred yards, the length of a football field.

quote:

On the video, the first version of which was apparently uploaded then deleted by the owner, a woman filming says of the horse: “This [expletive] refuses to leave the ranch, so John’s pulling him across, cause he’s being a douchebag.”

quote:

On Tuesday, authorities announced that Trigger’s owners, John and Amber Saldate, have been charged with one count each of animal cruelty, a misdemeanor in Colorado.

WAPO

Too bad we can’t reinstate the law of retaliation for the horse.

I hope Trump's Animal Cruelty felony law is in effect for them. They should go to jail for a long time.

Somebody should beat the Saldates to within in inch of their miserable lives. I'm pretty sure it really wouldn't be that difficult of a task.

I'm not clicking... just lie to me and tell me the horse was slightly injured or died very quickly.

How about we tie you by the neck and drag you behind a truck against your will? Let’s see how much you like it, take it sarcastically, or brush it off.

The poster that I replied to wrote

All I did was tell him what happened in the video. What’s wrong with that?

Seeing shite like what’s in the video pisses me off. Poster I responded to, seemed like it was no big deal. Perhaps, I got a bit too carried away.

Really? I was thinking the horse was on his side. Ya'll people would have died a few years ago when people had to have animals to survive.

I know people are going to hate on me, but that didn't hurt the horse at all.

Now for the part where people are going to really get pissed.

I did that most mornings of elk season last month. I would saddle the horse and pull him behind the truck a couple miles to the trail head. It got me there quicker and more importantly got the piss and vinegar out of the horse so we got along better the rest of the day.

It called getting the fresh out of them. Why that particular horse fought so hard is what I don't understand, they usually just take up a walk after one pull back at most.

Too many people get wrapped up in their own bubble of a world that they forget that video taping if stupid crap that you do is a terrible idea.
