My kids go to a rockstar public school. Why in the blue hell would I send them to one of the closest private schools for $25k/year/kid when their scores are lower?!

Eta: my property taxes are my tuition payments. The district we are in drives the home prices. And, I am the poor garbage in my district.......folks worth in the $100s of millions send their kids to our school, and I am positive they could afford private school.

Private schools rule in GA, especially the metro area.

There are a handful of high schools that are okay but you are kidding yourself if you think that education rivals one of the top tier privates.

I went to a magnet public high school after being in private for middle so I know both worlds.

I'm sorry you were so ashamed of your public school education that you wanted to prove to me that you were better than that. Sorry that I'm not convinced,

The Woodlands Texas schools wipe their arse with all GA schools.

Best we saw in north GA (Sequoia) and it pales to our schools here.

The top high schools in Tennessee are public. Are you just ignorant or do you work for a private school?

Sure thing. We'll just pretend like your listing your supposed accomplishments doesn't reek of insecurity.

I'm not the one making judgments about other people's life choices on an anonymous message board. That's what I would call insecure.

I'm going to need at least two more quality pieces of information about you before I can determine if you are my equal. Your public school education certainly isn't helping.

PhD is pretty good, but area of study is also very important.

The best schools in both nashville and knoxville are public. Hume-Fogg is the best in the state and is public.

Kids learn more by watching mom and dad than at school and that's being said from a husband of a teacher

We live in a nie neighborhood and have nice cars, and my kids go to public school. Born tried private school and were feeling not as challenged as they wereight our public schools. Oldest made a 27 on her ACT in 7th grade so I am not complaining

My poor kids, how disadvantaged they are, going to school with all those common people: LINK

Baton Rouge High's Mu Alpha Theta club has won first place sweepstakes at State Convention for the past consecutive sixteen years. The Science Olympiad team has placed first at the State level for the past consecutive fifteen years. The BRMHS Science Bowl team won first place at the regional competition four times in the last ten years. In 2004, BRMHS placed third in the national competition, and in 2013, they placed seventh in the national competition. Baton Rouge High is also one of the highest ranked schools in the state, and consistently wins state-level academic competitions.[5] The school requires students to pass enrollment standards and exceed graduation standards. As a result, nearly all graduating students attend college.

The BRHMS class of 2015 has already secured 7.5 million plus in college scholarship funding, and is sending kids to the Ivy League, West Point, The Air Force Academy ,MIT etc

You are clearly sending your kids to private school on credit. You have convinced yourself that this "sacrifice" is necessary because your parents made it for you. The idea that other parents have chosen to spend their money elsewhere makes you insecure and anxious.

But you haven't seen the worst yet. When their kids get into the same college as your kids, you will start to wonder whether it was all worth it (hint: it wasn't).

Best of luck to you. That's some pretty heavy shite to deal with. Hopefully you can ask your rich siblings for a loan later in life since you come from such an elite family.

Hume-Fogg is certainly a good school but I've honestly never heard it mentioned as a top school relative to schools like Christian Brothers or Baylor school.

Worse, you will shell out major bucks to send your kids to some shitty arse wanna-be elite school like Suwanee or something, and they will graduate and get shitty arse jobs at Bank of America or 3M where they will work side by side with graduates of North Carolina State and Clemson. But you will have paid five or six times as much as their parents.

Again, best of luck.
