Overwhelming violence pushes DJ Jubilee away from mentoring, coaching New Orleans kids

“Seeing these kids lose their life so quick... and then you don’t have an answer for it. Crime is here, and I’m done,” says DJ Jubilee.
Jubilee’s lost 39 young athletes over the years to violence and now he says the at-risk youth seem unreachable.

As a teacher and former high school football coach this saddens me but I see it everyday and I am about an hour north of New Orleans. I have had so many football players with the ability to go to LSU, Bama, etc but the drugs, the gangs and the fights are more important Their grades and football practice are the last thing on their mind.

My wife is on the evaluation team with him at West Jeff. He is 100% dedicated to turning kid's lives around and being a role model. He completely embraces it. You can tell he's getting burnt out though. This is so sad to hear.

I counsel kids every Thursday at WJ. I was looking for him today to discuss the issues he spoke of. Really good man. If he's fed up, we have a serious problem on our hands. And the stupid arse mayor don't give a shite about anything!!

This is exactly the thing he was getting across. If you call out what is actually happening, you're pegged a racist. If you're a cop and have a stand off with a thug and win, the current culture will say he was a good boy and etc.
This doesn't have to clump the people that are being responsible in their day to day lives and working hard to succeed. The fact is though that blacks are responsible for 90% of the crime that is being talked about in NOLA and BR. I work with a ton of awesome black dudes that are more passionately than me about this and say it much more crude. They will tell you that these animals do not value life, especially women or children.
This is a time for solutions, not a victim mentality.

Solutions? 95% of blacks vote for politicians who propose midnight basketball, statue removal, and defund the police as viable strategy while blaming whitey for all isle society’s ills.
Solutions are there, look to Rudy Giuliani and NYC as mayor. Yes some uncomfortable profiling and frisking, but if we’re in this to clean up crime and save lives tough choices have to be made. Miami has a great mayor who has cleaned up a former war zone as well.
When blacks realize they’ve been had by liberal democrats and transferred their slave ownership from Southern plantation owners to Democrat politicians we can make progress.
